From that date, it should be possible to run several types of motorsport events. Motorsport that requires two in a car may take a little time to restart due to social distancing requirements and that may be 2021.... Clubs/venues and drivers need to look at what do they want to do. Opportunity for new types of events, venues can be any car parks, open space of land. Those facilities with toilets and catering will be much more useful to organis- ing clubs post Covid-19. If an event is to be put on, then toilets MUST be provided for marshals and drivers. Few motorsport event organisers will have read, The event safety guide (Second edition) A guide to health, safety and welfare at music and similar events – HSG 195 - free here - https://www.gov.gg/CHttpHandler.ashx? id=107111&p=0 This is the guide that your, Local Authority, Health and Safety team will apply if You have any incident at your mo- torsport event. Your risk assessment WILL be looked at, and pulled to bits, if it is not deemed to be ‘sufficient or suffice’! The publication will enable event organisers, local authorities, the emergency services and HSE to work together to improve event safety. Their commitment to the production of this guide will ensure that health and safety remains a priority and that all involved will be able to continue to enjoy these events in safety. So why do folk put on motorsport events? Some club committees (not just Motorsport!) may well be asking that now! and why should the same 3 or 4 do all the work? When did YOU last help run an event? Whilst it is a good saying ‘many hands make light work’. Organising teams need help in the long-term, year in and year out. Teams also need to have an open attitude to helpers, whilst it can be easier to do all the work yourself, and training new helpers, does take time; but, it is an investment in the future of motorsport..... So why do folk put on motorsport events? I believe it is ‘our passion’ and if we did not do the voluntary work for motorsport, we would spend the time volun- teering for a local charity, local religious organisation, or helping out at what we liking doing. Steam railways, Na- tional Trust, football clubs, children’s clubs; the list is now endless, of volunteering opportunities, for those with the time to choose what they like doing. Please let Dave Thomas – [email protected] know of any event news and let us help keep that website up to date. http://anwcc.co.uk/ This will help the ANWCC site to be the one stop shop for all North West Motorsport event dates. • 1984 Audi Sport National Rally
1984 Audi Sport National Rally After an extremely successful event in 1983 we at Audi are delighted to be returning to Wales as the sponsors of the 1984 Audi Sport National Rally and hopefully this year's event will attract the top international names that made the 1983 rally so exciting for both competitors and spectators alike. Based again in Aberystwyth, the Audi Sport National includes one or two different stages for competitors and also better spectator facilities for the tremendous number of people who now follow the Shell Oils/Autosport British Rally Championship of which our event is the final round of the 1984 series. The series which has this year seen an Audi Sport backed entry, the development Audi 80 Quattro driven by Darryl Weidner, as well as an ever increasing number of works backed entries from other manufacturers, who clearly recognise the importance and value of the championship, for development of both cars and drivers. Audi as technological leaders of the motor industry, originally saw rallying as the ideal proving ground for their products and a way to continue improvement of the Audi range. And the success of the turbocharged Audi Quattro over the past four years, has played an important part in the development of 4 wheel drive in the Audi range, which over the next few months will be available as an option throughout almost all the Audi model line up. The Audi National Rally as usual offers not only an exciting end to the British National Championship, but a traditional warm up to the combined RAC Rally, which uses many of the stages in the Audi and I hope this year's rally will provide the excitement and entertainments of last year's event despite equally traditional damp Welsh weather conditions.

He was taken to Louth General Hospital where they did everything they could for him but sadly he died there later. Chris has been around Motorsport for many years either entertaining or annoying people with his all out flamboyant attitude. Wheels spinning and tyres smoking. It was with this in mind that in the early days of me knowing Chris, we nicknamed him “Animal” as he reminded us of the character from the Muppet Show. Chris started his Motorsport with Keighley & DMC but moved on to Sporting Escort Owners Club and finally in recent years with Huddersfield MC but gave 110% effort in to what ever he was competing at.
