From brand new forgings, nitrided EN40B crank with large counter balanced webs and bored holes for the big ends which reduces the reciprocating weight of the crankshaft and does not necessitate drilling through the counterbalance webs. Forgings are known to be stronger than billets as the grain pattern follows the shape of the webs and bearings whereas the billet type is machined across the grain.

We decided to show the irst pictures of our 2011 challenger in Team Lotus Notes as it is you the fans, who truly power us on and motivate our steps forward. I hope you enjoy the irst taste of our beautiful green and yellow car, and I hope you enjoy reading this; an honest and open insight, written from the heart of the team. When I was asked to pick one word to describe Team Lotus, a million looded into my mind! But eventually I had to come back to where it all started for me – dreams. Team Lotus is about dreams, and those dreams becoming reality. I remember when I was a boy, running a hole in the carpet with my model Lotus Formula One™ car. I had dreams then, I still do, but what I hope to inspire is the belief that if you dare to dream, you can achieve great things. Colin Chapman created the last dynasty and it’s one that inspires me and all my team to do more, think more, be more every day. But now it is time for us to create our own legend. Thank you for sharing this spirit of adventure with us, for being a part of our team, for stepping onto the rollercoaster we’re about to ride and daring to dream. Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Report

COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE 20141123 ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX RACE REPORT Daniel Ricciardo’s storming performance helped him recover from a pitlane start and end his impressive first season at Infiniti Red Bull Racing with a fourth place finish in today’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel couldn’t quite match his teammate’s heroics en route to eighth, while Scuderia Toro Rosso’s JeanEric Vergne just missed out on the points in 12th. Romain Grosjean fought back from grid and drivethrough penalties to finish 13th for Lotus F1 Team, and Caterham F1 Team’s Will Stevens enjoyed a solid first Formula 1 appearance by coming home 17th. Key race points: Abu Dhabi’s unique late evening start time provided a stunning backdrop to the world championship decider and also threw up a variety of tyre strategies as the track cooled throughout the evening. Starting from the pitlane proved no hindrance to the Red Bull pair who diligently picked their way through the midfield during the opening stint on prime tyres. Ricciardo had the best of the traffic and was up to fifth when he pitted for the first time on lap 28. Another fast and consistent stint saw him running third when he stopped for the final time to switch to the option tyres with just eight laps remaining, before finishing one place higher than where he originally qualified. Vettel was also able to charge through on the same strategy but could only finish eighth despite picking off both Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg over the final 10 laps.

500 Owners Association MOTOR SPORT Magazine Clippings - 1940’s Issued: 4th March 2015 Notes on 500 and 500-related references This paper is an attempt to record every single 500-related reference from the entire run of the magazine. It includes articles, references in event reports, For Sale advertisements. It also tries to include details that are relevant to the context of the 500 movement, such as clubs, organisation of the sport, and the development of venues. The only area where it is limited is when covering the careers of 500 drivers before or after their time in the movement Status: All magazines in the time period have been fully catalogued. Notes On : • Magazine issues with no entry & light shading are not available for cataloguing. We would be grateful if you could volunteer to add any missing issues. • Every effort has been made to find references, including references in general and classified advertisements. However, it is quite possible that some may have been missed whether because they are very obscure, apparently irrelevant, or just human error. • Transcription Style: • Text has been transcribed verbatim (including spelling errors), with only modern grammar substituted for contractions (e.g. “S Moss” for “S.Moss”; “ftd” for f.t.d.) • “(sic)” notation may have been used where relevant in text, and is a transcriber’s note rather than the source text. • For longer articles, only pieces of note are transcribed. The ellipsis (“… “) before a sentence indicates that text deemed irrelevant has been skipped (which could run to many paragraphs, e.g. reports of other classes in an event report).
