www.eco-tamis.com Eco Tamiš (Timiş) Fishing - New tourism product Zona/Zone 8 Jaša Tomić Ribolov Pecanje Još u praistoriji, najstarije čovekove delatnosti u funkciji njegovog opstanka bile su lov, ribolov i sakupljanje biljnih plodova u prirodi. Pored banjskog, planinskog, lovnog i Zona/Zone 5 etno turizma u Srbiji se sve više razvija nova grana kontinentalnog turizma - ribolovni turizam. Orlovat, Uzdin PLANDIŠTE Fishing Even in very early times, as early as prehistoric times, the oldest activities of man in the function of his survival included hunting, fishing and collecting fruits in nature. Out of these hunting and fishing activities, cattle breeding and fishery have been developed. Throughout history, man has caught fish in various ways. First, man caught fish with his bare hands or he used to make various primitive traps. Over time, he mastered fishing with the use of a bow and arrow, a spear, and eventually he invented the fishhook as a very efficient device for fishing that is still intensively used today. Over time, man developed methods in which he used various nets and snares. The surplus of fish caught alive that could not be used at a specific moment, was stored in various artificial or natural Zona/Zone pools, as reserves for winter. Based on the foregoing, it can be concluded that fishing and fishery are very old activities of man, dating back to prehistoric times. Zona/Zone 4 Fishery is a branch of economy that deals with breeding fish (and other aqueous species) in Farkaždin, Idvor artificial, confined conditions (aquaculture) and catching fish (and other aqueous organisms) in open waters. Recreational fishing, as a segment of open water management, and thus an inseparable compo- nent of fishery, undoubtedly has all the elements of an economic activity. In addition to wellness tourism, mountain tourism, hunting tourism and ethno-tourism, the new branch of continental tourism – fishing tourism has been increasingly developed in Serbia.

Obale Tamiša svakog vikenda okupira armija sportskih ribolovaca. Osim dobrog ulova Potamišje privlači pažnju dobrim izletničkim i kamping mestima. Pančevo, Ušće, Železnički most/ BELA CRKVA Pančevo, River Mouth, Railway Bridge

JABUKA PANČEVO Fishing on the Tamiš River While the lack of industry along the Tamiš River has had many adverse effects on the development of economy, maybe it has had as many positive effects on the conservation of nature. The diversity of natural habitats and mosaic-like arrangement of various ecosystems have created an area extre- mely rich in biodiversity. In its course, the Tamiš River forms a large number of meanders with mild-curved bends and sharp-curved bends (large river bends), which is a consequence of the low resistance loess through which the river flows, as well as of erosion and high water level. Over time, the Tamiš River has frequently cut off its meanders and left them, and in this way, along the course of the Tamiš River, a larger number of oxbow lakes and distributaries have been formed. In addition to agriculture, fishery has always had great importance to the population of this region throughout history. The archival materials of our municipality tell us that great leaseholders from the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century used to lease the Tamiš River from Idvor to Sefkerin so that all fishermen within this route directly served these leaseholders or paid for their own fishing licences by a percentage of fish caught. And the catch of fish was rich. The same archival records tell us that daily catch used to reach a record of 12 tons. The last legal regulations have prohibited the economic fishing on the Tamiš River, but on the other hand, five large carp fishponds have been formed along the Tamiš River, in particular: Sutjeska (900 ha), Neuzina (400 ha), Uzdin (430 ha), Baranda – Sakule (1.050 ha) and Čenta (120 ha). In these fishponds, semi-intensive PANČEVO fish farming is preferred. Every weekend, the banks of the Tamiš River are occupied by a very large group of recreational fishermen. In addition to promising good catch, the Tamiš River basin attracts the attention of visitors by its nice holiday and camping areas. The section from Farkaždin, through Sakule, Baranda and Opovo, to Sefkerin is particularly interesting to recreational fishermen (the vicinity of Belgrade and regular bus lines). Numerous distributaries in this section represent significant hatching grounds, and the Karašac canal, with a length of only 6 km, located between Baranda and Čenta, connects the Tamiš River with the Danube River. In addition to taking place on the Tamiš River, fishing can also take place on canals, on the oxbows and meandering distributary channels and lakes.
