The story forced authorities to conduct raids and shutdown the clinics (The New Indian Express 2005). • Exposed incidents of caste-based discrimination at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India’s premier medical school, in New Delhi (The Indian Express, 2006). • Wrote a series of reports exposing the absence of basic facilities in government-owned hospitals in Bangalore (The New Indian Express, 2005). • Produced a series of in-depth reports on the poor condition of government schools in New Delhi (The Indian Express, 2006). Individual and Community level effects of women’s employment on marital violence in India” at the PAA annual meeting in April 2018 in Denver, US. ➢ Presented “The Feminism in ‘Feminist’ Bollywood Movies” at the Sixth GCRA International Conference on Media in Transformation, “GCRA 2014” in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in February 2014. Invited talks: ➢ Presented my doctoral research on domestic violence at GradTerp Exchange, UMD, October 2018. ➢ Conducted training workshops on gender for FEDINA activists from May to September 2011. ➢ Gave lectures “Gender and Globalization” and “Portrayal of Women in Tamil Cinema” at the Women’s Studies Refresher’s course in Bharathiar University, India, in February 2011. ➢ Presented ‘Reporting on female feticide in India’ to journalists at “National Media Workshop: Sex Selection and Female Feticide” organized by UNICEF, in September 2005 in New Delhi. ➢ Presented “Media’s Role in Curbing Sex-selective Abortion and Female Feticide” at the first national bioethics conference “Ethical Challenges in Healthcare: Global Context, Indian Reality” in November 2005 in Mumbai.
