Our Paddlesteamer PS Pevensey The P.S. Pevensey was built in 1911 at Moama slipway and is powered by a 20 hp Marshall steam engine. Pevensey operated as a wool carrying vessel towing barges in Echuca’s heyday (1800- 1900s). In modern times Pevensey is known internationally as the Philadelphia, star of the mini-series “All the Rivers Run”. This incredible paddlesteamer is maintained and preserved to original standards using traditional shipwright methods handed down from previous generations. Daily one hour paddlesteamer cruises onboard P.S. Pevensey at 10.15am, 11.30am, 1.30pm & 2.45pm. Hear the skippers commentary as you experience an authentic paddlesteamer from the riverboats heyday. Fully stocked saloon bar with beverages and snacks, souvenirs available at affordable prices. Catering is available for group bookings, please see our list of recommended caterers. Opportunity to combine your cruise with the Port of Echuca’s one hour guided tours of the Echuca wharf. (additional cost applies) Group pricing Adults $23.50 per head Concession $21.50 per head Child $9.00 per head (4-14 years) Carers and coach crew are free of charge, they must be included in passenger numbers at the time of booking or confirmation (7 days prior to cruising). Catering costs apply. Maximum passenger numbers are 100 per cruise on P.S. Pevensey. Larger groups will need to be split over two cruise times. All bookings are subject to river level heights. Should levels create a risk to the vessel, staff or passengers, as deemed by a Risk Assessment, the cruise will be reassessed. 2. Confirmation of final numbers and catering options (if applicable) is required 7 days prior to the date of booking. Total numbers are inclusive of children and entertainers (where applicable). 3. Due to the historic nature and the authentic construction of the Paddlesteamers, some areas may only be accessible when assistance is provided. 4. Our Paddlesteamer is of timber construction and historical significance and therefore, smoking is not permitted. 5. Echuca Paddlesteamers are obligated under the Licensing Act to ensure responsible service of alcohol. Breaches of the Licensing Act by patrons during any function may lead to the termination of the function with no refund. 6. BYO alcoholic beverages are not permitted. 7. In accordance with Environmental Operations (Noise Control) Regulation 2000, no offensive noise will be emitted from a cruising vessel, including, but not limited to, loud amplified music systems. Children are taken to the wheelhouse in small groups to try their hand at steering the paddlesteamer and earn their First Mates Certificate. The opportuntiy to include the Port of Echuca Discovery Centre tour of the historic Echuca Wharf and education package (additional costs apply). School group pricing Student prices for children primary and secondary levels are $ 9.00 per head Adults are free of charge at a 1 :10 ratio, additional adults are at $23.00 per head Carers and teachers aides are free of charge, they must be included in passenger numbers at the time of booking or confirmation (7 days prior to cruising). That Council note the Minutes of the three meetings of the Port Precinct Working Group (dated 13 September, 19 September and 4 October 2019) as presented to Council Briefing Session on 8 October 2019 and note and accept the recommendations contained therein. 2. That Council agree to undertake a review of future management options for the Port Precinct in accordance with the following Terms of Reference recommended by the Port Precinct Working Group: Purpose: . The Port Precinct Working Group was established by the Campaspe Shire Council by resolution dated 16 July 2019. The purpose of the Working Group is to develop a term of reference for a possible future report to explore potential models for the management and operation of the Port of Echuca Precinct through an ‘arms-length’ management structure. Assumptions and Parameters: It is noted that the Campaspe Shire Council (Council) has not made any decisions regarding changes to the future management of the Port of Echuca Precinct. The following assumptions and parameters will apply to the scope of the investigation/review: . Council will retain an active ongoing role in the future management of the Port of Echuca. Campaspe Shire Council 2018 Seniors Festival CELEBRATE OUR SENIORS THIS OCTOBER Welcome to the 36th Victorian Seniors Festival Across Victoria, seniors make our state kinder, wiser, and more compassionate. The Victorian Seniors Festival is a chance to celebrate these contributions. This year's theme is Get Social - and we encourage you to do exactly that. Starting on Sunday, 7 October through to Sunday, 14 October, the Victorian Government initiative will see more than 1,500 free and low-cost individual events and activities held across the state, many of them run by local councils. Campaspe Shire Council’s program this year features a range of entertainment, adventure and fun-focused activities across sports and the arts. The Seniors Festival’s Country Concert Series features Rubber Soul. Skills-building exercises, such as calligraphy, social croquet, aquatic events, historic guided tours, computer skills sessions, legal and financial sessions – are all part of a jam-packed Festival Program across our shire. Events are free or low-cost and free public transport will be available for Seniors Card holders during the Festival’s first week from 7 to 14 October.
