Start your review of Ms. Apr 23, Amanja rated it it was amazing. This is the spoiler free review of Ms. Marvel issues collected as volumes 1 and 2. Ms Marvel begins her story as Kamala Khan. She's in high school and has a couple of friends there but doesn't really fit in with the popular kids. Her family is Muslim to various degrees. Her parents are culturally and religiously Muslim while her brother is bordering zealot territory. She places herself within that world but has Americanized a bit more. She also spends her time writing superhero fan fiction and fantasizing about being powerful. Her dream becomes a reality when she gets caught in the Terrigen Mists and develops strange shape shifting and healing powers. She will discover several Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 into the run that she is an and her powers were lying dormant until the mists woke them up. Now her goal is to master her use of these powers and protect her home town of Jersey City from bad guys, and robots, and monsters, and maybe the end of the world. Along the way she deals with all of the normal Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 of being a teenager. She needs to get her homework done, escape getting grounded, and manage emotions around boys. The way that Kamala does everything is with the strongest of integrity. She's incredibly strong willed. She does not give in to anyone on any subject that she believes in. Her religion, culture, ideology, and morals are constantly being challenged but she knows what she believes in and does not bend. I respect her so much for all of this. She's an actual good person and at this point seems incorruptible. She also Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 a with natural grace. I especially enjoyed a plot in volume 2 in which she starts to fall head over heels for a boy. But she never loses herself. She's so much stronger than any teenage girl I ever knew. Mentally and physically. There are a couple of cliffhangers by the end of this run and I' curious to see where it goes from Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2. I need to do a little reading guide research because I think it's about to tie into a much larger story line and it might be one of those cases where many lines have to be read at once to get the full story. Sigh, comics. Regardless, Kamala Khan, Ms Marvel, is one to look out for. She's a new hero on the Marvel scene but she's super powerful in all of the ways one can be powerful and she has a very bright future ahead of her. This is a new character who's definitely worth getting into. Jul 17, Lydia rated it liked it Shelves: graphic-novels Volume Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 was still super fun. It's still a bit ridiculous in places, but I'm pretty sure my reaction to that is because I'm not really used to reading superhero stuff. I liked the family stuff in here and view spoiler [I liked that at the end she didn't just fall into Bruno's arms, because that would have been dull and I would not have been about that hide spoiler ]. It was a fun read. May 08, Roger Royer rated it really Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 it Shelves: graphic-novelcomicsyoung-adultfantasy. So, this is book two of the series and I am really impressed. I know that it can be very difficult to maintain a high standard when writing a series, especially a comic book series, but they have broken the mold with this book. The book itself is Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 to read. I am seriously thinking that Kamala could be one of the best new series out there. I really appreciate the way the writing and art are so complimentary of each other and manage to show off all the visiting characters. Amazing work all So, this is book two of the series and I am really impressed. Amazing work all around. Ilu eh Marvel, Kamala is cute, funny, and refreshing. I thought this collection would be a great chance to introduce friends to the series, but wanted to read it first It starts off ok, little introduction to Kamala, but that is ok, as the personality and art style sell a rough beginning. However, an initially interesting story devolves into a hot mess, with what I am assuming was a Marvel universe wide event that comes out of n Let me start this off my saying I LOVE Ms. However, Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 initially interesting story devolves into a hot mess, with what I am assuming was a Marvel universe wide event that comes out of no where, makes no sense, and then Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 further explained later in the book. I was hoping a collection like this would clean that up, but Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2, just leaves the reader going wtf just happened, and then thinking well I guess the other parts of the story will explain Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 Ms. Marvel Vol 2 (–) | Marvel Database | Fandom

Morph rated it it was ok Shelves: comics-read-in OK, look, I love Ms. Marvel and I have been a big fan of everything Saladin Ahmed has written up to this point, but this Ms. Marvel run is getting a big thumbs down from me. In the last volume, Kamala went to an alien planet and obtained a 'smart-costume' with a bunch of swanky new features that responded to her thoughts. If you'd care t OK, look, I love Ms. If you'd care to find my review of that volume, I cried 'foul' then, but was happy to dismiss it out of my love for the character and the writer. With THIS volume, however, the swipe becomes even more blatant when Kamala's new costume turns out to be sentient and attacks her! Swipes just don't get more blatant than that. It didn't help that Kamala's dad being sick and Kamala being torn between tending to her sick father and fighting the bad guy ALSO felt like a complete swipe of what it basically a Spidey trope. I mean, Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2, if you really wanted to write Spider-Man, I'm sure you'll get your chance eventually but, for now, could you quit it with the 'homages', please? View 2 comments. Feb 12, Rachida rated it it was amazing Shelves: graphic-novelsuperheroesreleases. Loved the art style! Loved the storyline! Loved everything!!! Marvel, vol. Marvel graphic Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2, but this volume was just perfect! Apr 26, RG rated it really liked it. Ahmeds writing some very good stories. Aug 08, Alex Sarll added it. At its best, this is passable but unremarkable modern Marvel with occasional glimmers of topicality a villainous tech-bro buying a town and turning the residents into employees into zombies; a neat paralleling of monopoly Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 with Kamala's father's cancer. Nothing to compare with the Willow Wilson run, or Ahmed's other Marvel stuff, but acceptable in a forgettable sort of way. At its worst During which story she risks her dad's life in the course of saving villains? Plus, it reminded me that Marvel Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 been just that little bit early with deploying a villain called Lockdown. Who's only a minor technologically-augmented authoritarian, when really the name should have been reserved for a Dementor-esque embodiment of despair who slowly destroys everything but with whom the heroes still somehow find themselves allied. Jun 29, Panda Incognito rated it it was ok Shelves: superherographic-novelsscience-fictionyoung-adult. This story had some very interesting elements, but it was too heavy-handed and preachy, and parts of the story were rushed and cluttered. I'm not ready to give up on this second series yet, since I've so deeply enjoyed previous Ms. Marvel books and care about the characters. Still, I miss the previous creative team, and I'm not sure how long I'll continue with this series. I'll have to wait and see how it develops. Jul 08, Beelzefuzz rated it liked it. I am still salty over the first volume in this run, and had a hard time stopping myself from screaming at the book that it Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 still just a Spider-man story. It was enjoyable in places and had the best visual gag I have seen in a long time. I laughed out loud when she revealed her "mask. Apr 04, Chris Lemmerman rated it it was amazing Shelves: comics-and-manga-read. Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 battles old enemies and new friends yep in this second Magnificent volume as Saladin Ahmed picks up on lingering G. Willow Wilson Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 to drive his own story forward. The opening two issues are fun, giving Kamala a bit of a roadtrip only to have Discord and Lockdown ruin it. I feel sorry for both of these characters to different degrees, and I'm glad Ahmed chose to revisit them. Kamala Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 have a lot of recurring foes of her own, so keeping them around is a good choice, and Ms. Kamala doesn't have a lot of recurring foes of her own, so keeping them around is a good choice, and helps keep the consistency between this run and the previous. The main draw is of course Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 Stormranger story, which is essentially Kamala's Venom story. Once I realised what Ahmed was doing with this arc I Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 even more on-board with it, and the way he manages to balance Kamala's superheroics and the effect it has on her civilian life is so quintessentially Spider-Man that it made me gasp at how perfectly he executed it. Joey Vasquez handles the art on the two-parter, and Minkyu Jung returns for Stormranger proper, so the series is in very well-versed hands when it comes to Kamala, with Vasquez hot off that ill-fated Ms. Marvel Team-Up book and Jung of course the Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 artist from last volume. Ahmed hits it out of the Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 with this second volume; his Kamala really is living up to the Magnificent moniker so far. Aug 06, Ray Smith rated it it was ok. Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 me preface this review by stating that I have been a fan of the new Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan ever since they announced the character back in And her series hasn't really disappointed. That being said, I feel like Stormranger could have been more. There was stuff going on, definitely. Seriously, Kamala, you need to talk to Spider-Man. He'd Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 the first Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2 tell you: Ms. Marvel: Vol. 2, ever trust a mysterious alien supersuit; it never ends well. Oh, yeah, and Mister Hyde randomly shows up to wreck shit. Lots of potential. But for some reason, it just didn't feel like it delivered.
