Topping the list were inquiries about married priesthood and questions about the differences between Byzantine and Latin Catholic traditions. Sponsored by the FUS Pre-Theologate program, the event - touted as the largest in the U.S. - was held Oct. 8 at the eastern Ohio school’s Finnegan Fieldhouse. n

On Thursday Sept. 23, St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Hawk Run, Pa. celebrated the Feast of the Conception of its patron saint by offering a Divine Liturgy at six o’clock that evening. The church was filled to capacity, if not overflowing, by parishioners who not only celebrated the liturgy but also got a last chance to say their farewells to their ever-smiling, beloved priest - Father Daniel Forsythe. Father Dan departed the following day to visit his parents in Ohio before traveling on to his new assignment at St. Basil the Great Byzantine Catholic Church in Irving, Texas. LifeQuest is a discernment retreat for single Catholic women, ages 17-40. The 2010 theme is “Listening, Discerning, Acting in the Spirit.” During the course of the program, participants will hear about the inner dynamics of Consecrated Life.
