Florida Atlantic University Fraternity & Sorority Life Community Report - Spring 2011 Fraternity & Sorority Life Community Report Executive Summary In addition to our fraternities & sororities, this report is sent to stakeholders to inform them about the FAU fraternity & sorority community. On the reverse side is the statistical report for Spring 2011, last verified on June 9, 2011 Scholarship * The FAU fraternity & sorority community cumulative GPA is not above the FAU undergraduate cumulative GPA (2.69 vs. 2.88). * The FAU fraternity & sorority community cumulative GPA decreased .03 points from Fall 2010 (2.71) to Spring 2011 (2.69). * The FAU sorority cumulative GPA decreased .08 points from Fall 2010 (2.82) to Spring 2011 (2.74). * The FAU fraternity cumulative GPA increased .04 points from Fall 2010 (2.60) to Spring 2011 (2.64). * The average new member class GPA for the Spring 2011 semester was a 2.41 * No sorority chapter has a cumulative GPA above the all-women's undegraduate cumulative GPA. * Lambda Theta Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Chi, and Sigma Phi Epsilon all have a cumulative GPA above the all-men's undergraduate cumulative average. Membership * The FAU fraternity & sorority community saw a total membership increase of 28% from Spring 2010 (628) to Spring 2011 (804). * The percentage of undergraduate students holding membership in fraternities/sororities increased from 3% to 4% from Spring 2010 to Spring 2011. Service & Philanthropy * The FAU fraternity & sorority community increased the number of receord community services by 43% from Fall 2010's totals. * The FAU fraternity & sorority community increased the number of recorded philanthropy dollars by 166% from Fall 2010's totals. Standards of Excellence *The following chapters were recognized at the 2011 Standards of Excellence Ceremony for achieving 5-Star Status in the various areas of focus: Alpha Delta Pi: Organizational Purpose, Community Expectations & High Standards, Social & Personal Development, and Intellectual Growth & Genuine Learning Alpha Epsilon Pi: Innovative Thought & Action Alpha Nu Omega Sorority: Organizational Purpose Alpha Xi Delta: Responsibility to Self & Others and Intellectual Growth & Genuine Learning Delta Phi Epsilon: Global Citizenship & Engagment Theta Phi Alpha: Intellectual Growth & Genuine Learning and Relationship Building Organizational Conduct *Delta Tau Delta and Sigma Alpha Mu were both charged and found responsible for violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Leadership Programs *The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life Leadership Programs included the President's Leadership Experience.
