Recognized as one of the leading quartets of its generation, the Ludwig Quartet performs world-wide, notably in Paris (Théârtre des Champs Elysés, Opera Comique, Cité de la Musique) London (Wigmore Hall) New York (Merkin Hall), Taiwan and Shanghai (National Theatres), Tokyo… Their numerous recordings have been awarded several “Grand Prix du Disque“ including the “Grand Prix du Disque Lyric“, the “Grand Prix International de l’Académie Charles Cros“, the “Grand Prix du Disque Français“ and the Cannes Midem. Jean-Philippe Audoli plays a Pietro Giovani Montegazzia, Milan 1785. Elenid Owen plays a Giovanni Grancino, Milan 1703. Padrig Fauré plays a Jean-Baptiste Villaume, Paris 1854. Anne Copéry plays a Charles Français Gand (known as “Gand Père“) 1824. Fondé en 1985, le Quatuor Ludwig se compose de Jean-Philippe Audoli (1 er violon), Elenid Owen (2 nd violon), Padrig Fauré (alto) et Anne Copéry (violoncelle). Matej Santi, Elias Berner (eds.) Music – Media – History Music and Sound Culture | Volume 44 Matej Santi studied violin and musicology. He obtained his PhD at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, focusing on central European history and cultural studies. Since 2017, he has been part of the “Telling Sounds Project” as a postdoctoral researcher, investigating the use of music and discourses about music in the media. Elias Berner studied musicology at the University of Vienna and has been resear- cher (pre-doc) for the “Telling Sounds Project” since 2017. For his PhD project, he investigates identity constructions of perpetrators, victims and bystanders through music in films about National Socialism and the Shoah. Matej Santi, Elias Berner (eds.) ª Stagione Concertistica 110 PROGRAMMA GENERALE 2019 |2020 ore 20,30 RISTORI TEATRO Manifestazioni effettuate con il contributo del Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali con il contributo di 110ª Stagione Concertistica PROGRAMMA GENERALE 2019 |2020 TEATRO RISTORI inizio concerti ore 20,30 La Storia All’inizio del Novecento nascono in varie città italiane numerose associazioni musicali con lo 2 scopo di diffondere soprattutto la musica da camera, sul modello della Società del Quartetto di Milano, che annoverava tra i fondatori due musicisti veneti, Franco Faccio, veronese, e Arrigo Boito, padovano di nascita. A Verona, il 25 aprile 1909, nasce la Società Amici della Musica che da allora ha offerto ininterrottamente più di un secolo di proposte musicali ai numerosi appassionati, attraverso concerti tenuti dai più grandi solisti e gruppi cameristici del mondo. Il loro elenco è molto numeroso; visto dal punto di vista odierno ci si rende conto che nelle sale da concerto e nei teatri di Verona è passata un’intera pagina della storia musicale del Novecento. Al primo presidente, Erminio De Marchesetti, sono seguiti Umberto Boggian, Federico Federici, Francesco Benciolini, Guido Begal, Sergio Carugno, Lucio Lombardi, fino all’attuale presidente Oreste Ghidini. Dai programmi ci accorgiamo di come sia stata eseguita non solo musica del Sette-Ottocento, ma anche composizioni contemporanee.
