They demonstrate greater high school graduation rates and are 80% more likely to pursue a college education than non-Girl Scouts. They rise to the top in their careers and become civic-minded leaders in their communities. Today, we’re here to honor local Girl Scouts who have demonstrated extraordinary vision, achievement, and leadership, and to encourage them to continue their paths to success. We’re also here to raise funds for local Girl Scout programs and activities, and to raise awareness about the impact Girl Scouting has on thousands of girls throughout southern Idaho. Thank you for being here to help us celebrate and grow. 3 Kristin Armstrong Guest Speakers Kristin Armstrong is the most decorated U.S. women’s cyclist of all time and the best time-trialist in sports history. She is a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, two-time World Champion and has won six U.S. National Championships. Kristin is the only female U.S. athlete to win the same event (time trial) in three consecutive Olympic Summer Games, taking home the gold medal in Beijing, London, and Rio. Prior to her professional cycling career, Armstrong had been a junior Olympian in swimming, a distance runner in college, and then became a triathlete. She spent many hours perfecting her strokes in the pool at the Downtown Family YMCA, where she also served as Director of Aquatics. She serves as the Manager of Community Health for St. Luke’s in Boise, Idaho and spends her free time on public speaking engagements. Congratulations!
