Background

 Started out as two celebrations, courtesy of and Samuel de Champlain

 Immigrants and locals celebrated both events and as Canada grew, it eventually became one! Traditions

 People get together with their families

 They hold a big meal, which is the meal.

 Some provinces have parades to celebrate Thanksgiving Day.

Basic Order Example  Operator: Hello Pizza 73, may I take your order?  You: I’d like to have a 14-inch Pepperoni pizza, and a 14-inch Hawaiian pizza.

 Operator: What dips or sides would you like with your order?  You: I’d like 20 chicken wings. No dips please.

 Operator: Any drinks?  You: I’ll have a Large Coke please.  Operator: Is that everything?  You: Yes. Basic Order Example

 Operator: The total comes to . How are you paying?  You: Debit / Cash / Credit card.

 Operator: It’ll be there within 30 minutes. Thank you for ordering.  You: Thank you, good bye. Tips and Pointers

 If you don’t understand the server’s words, just ASK.   Read the restaurant’s menu on the internet  If server asks too early, tell him/her “Give me a few more minutes please.” Tips and Pointers

 If you want to stay longer after eating, tell your server ◦ “Can we stay here longer?”  Don’t be nervous! You are a guest in the restaurant, and you are paying them money.  PRACTICE! Get a friend to help you out first, and then slowly try it out by yourself. THANK YOU for Watching!
