Fair Harvard Samuel Gilman, Class of 1811

Fair Harvard! We join in thy Jubilee throng, And with blessings surrender thee o’er. By these Festival-rites, from the Age that is past, To the Age that is waiting before. O Relic and Type of our ancestors’ worth, That hast long kept their memory warm, First flow’r of their wilderness! Star of their night! Calm rising thro’ change and thro’ storm. [Revised 1998]

2012 Class Ode Glenn Townsend Bogardus ’12, Edward Daniel ’12, Rachel Langston Hawkins ’12, Jennifer Christine Houpy ’12, Elizabeth Rose Moroney ’12, and Duncan Joseph Watts ’12

Fair classmates! Though storm drew us close at the first, Through days after, our friendships were born. As the world withstood turmoil, we bonded as one, And at home, we saw Harvard transform. From Crimson turn’d Green to the Occupation, Old @fas and the Core are now gone. We have weathered the whirlwinds of cuts and of change; Will clouds pass to give way to the dawn?

Onward Crimson, go forth toward horizons unknown With the knowledge that Harvard has wrought. While the future may daunt, dwell upon Harvard’s truth That we’ve found amidst challenges fought: Flags of vict’ry anew streamed above Soldiers Field! We kept Harvard’s long hist’ry in mind. Learn’d and tried, look yet forward, Two Thousand and Twelve! Part to better serve country and kind. 124 Mount Auburn Street, 6th Floor Cambridge, Massachusetts alumni.harvard.edu | 617-496-7001
