Bergen Land Lower Saxony STAGE 6 BERGEN—CELLE KM 30 race E district Celle

Bergen belongs to the rural district of (Landkreis) Celle. Known throughout the world for the concentration camp of Bergen-Belsen, among whose victims we find the name of Anna Frank.

1 Bergen—Celle

2 We continue with crossing the vast plain of Lower Saxony, referring to waterways, settlements, and farms. We can imagine the difficulties of an ancient pilgrim in finding his way, avoiding the numerous marshes. The crossing of he immense plain of Lower Saxony, having as a guide only water courses and settlements or farmsteads, we can imagine the difficulties of a pilgrim in finding his way avoiding swamps, today reclaimed, and in finding hospitality. We leave the city starting from Am Friedensplatz , we cross the Cellerstrasse, continuing straight on the Deichen up to Am der Bahn; we turn right and at the first crossing we take the Kampweg on the left;

3 We follow this today reclaimed, area which lie between here and the Roxhullenser Weg; here we turn right, 400 m and cross Wholde Ghnausee o L281 and we will be in the small village of Wholde : we turn left, then right and at the crossroad we take the Hunenburgerweg.

4 Now we move straight ahead for 1,5 km, crossing the Hunenburg, continuing straight on for 2,7 km we arrive at the village of Diesten.

5 We cross highway L240 and by the last houses we turn right on the Gustweg , we take the Lindhosterweg, then the Am Heidberg eand uninterruptedly the Krempelstieg; we arrive to Sulze on the Salinenplatz o L240; we turn giriamo to left and we go on the Salzstrasse.

6 We go on the Salzstrasse or L240 for 2,5km and we arrive to Eversen.

7 We cross highway L240 and by the last houses we turn right on the Gustweg which we shall follow through open countryside and through woodlands for 7 km, up to Hustedt , which we surpass continuing on the Felicitas-Rose-Strasse;

8 we continue along this road, still through open countryside, even when the road changes name into Hustedter Kirchweg, for about 5 km and we arrive at Gross Hehlen .

9 We now cross the town straight on following the Hustedterweg then Lange Strasse and Gros HehlnerKirchweg for 2,5 km to arrive at Klein Hehlen , on road L180, where we torn left.

10 Following now the L180 or Bremer Weg we carry on straight when this turns left and cross the railway to arrive on the Neumarkt. We now turn right, we cross the river and enter the historical centre of Celle
