Georgia Southern University released updated COVID-19 case numbers on Monday, Sept. 28. For the fi rst time all semester, GSU saw a slight rise in cases all semester. The university confi rmed fi ve more cases between Oct. 5 and Oct. 11 than it did the week before. The self-reported cases dropped by three. The total COVID-19 cases came out to 14 compared to 12 the week before. All reported cases were in the student population and most continue to be on the Statesboro campus.

Do you have what it takes to be a Queen? This issue’s pick of the week is the Miss Collegiate 100 scholarship pageant. Collegiate 100 will be holding an interest meeting Wednesday Oct. 21, 2020. The meeting will take place inside of University Hall room 156. Masks are required for the in-person informational. For students who aren’t interested in meeting in person, a Zoom option will be available. The collegiate 100 pageant was cancelled last year due to Covid-19. Because of the pandemic, Collegiate 100 has decided to retry in Spring of 2021. The organization is looking forward to restarting this journey and crowning a new queen. During the meeting, participants will be able to meet the current Queen of Collegiate 100, as well as hear key information in order to become a queen themselves . The men of Collegiate 100 are encouraging all young ladies on campus to attend the Miss Collegiate 100 Scholarship Pageant interest meeting. This is one of Collegiate 100’s top tier events and a great way to make one special student known on campus. The interest meeting will be held on Oct.21, at 6 p.m. in University Hall, room 156.
