The Pseudo-Revolution in Libya and the Degenerate “Left”, PART I : the Pseudo-Revolution in Libya, TAKIS FOTOPOULOS
The pseudo-revolution in Libya and the Degenerate “Left”, PART I : The pseudo-revolution in Libya, TAKIS FOTOPOULOS The International Journal of INCLUSIVE DEMOCRACY , Vol. 7, No. 1 (Winter-Spring 2011) The pseudo-revolution in Libya and the Degenerate “Left” TAKIS FOTOPOULOS PART I : The pseudo-revolution in Libya ...also read Part II: The role of the degenerate "Left" 1. Introduction To avoid any misconceptions or deliberate distortions of the stand taken by this paper (there have already been accusations by what I call the present degenerate “Left” — statist and libertarian alike — that I am a “pro-Caddafist,” a “plot theorist,” a “supporter of dictatorial regimes,” etc., particularly since I was also against the transnational elite’s[1] criminal attacks on Yugoslavia, [2] Afghanistan [3] and Iraq [4] ), I think it is necessary to state, explicitly and in advance, the principles guiding this paper. The reader will, then, have a clear opportunity to assess its conclusions against these principles and draw his/her own conclusions. Basic principles guiding this paper 1. Fundamental to this analysis is the libertarian principle of peoples’ self determination, which should never be violated for supposedly humanitarian reasons (like those invoked by the arch-criminals of the transnational elite) or pseudo-“anarchist” reasons, according to which states are not sacrosanct (see Chomsky-Part II). 2. Although it is true that states are not sacred, and social liberation is impossible unless peoples live in free confederations of their own communities securing the equal distribution of political and economic power among all citizens, national liberation is a precondition for any social liberation. -

Film, Television and Video Productions Featuring Brass Bands
Film, Television and Video productions featuring brass bands Gavin Holman, October 2019 Over the years the brass bands in the UK, and elsewhere, have appeared numerous times on screen, whether in feature films or on television programmes. In most cases they are small appearances fulfilling the role of a “local” band in the background or supporting a musical event in the plot of the drama. At other times band have a more central role in the production, featuring in a documentary or being a major part of the activity (e.g. Brassed Off, or the few situation comedies with bands as their main topic). Bands have been used to provide music in various long-running television programmes, an example is the 40 or more appearances of Chalk Farm Salvation Army Band on the Christmas Blue Peter shows on BBC1. Bands have taken part in game shows, provided the backdrop for and focus of various commercial advertisements, played bands of the past in historical dramas, and more. This listing of 450 entries is a second attempt to document these appearances on the large and small screen – an original list had been part of the original Brass Band Bibliography in the IBEW, but was dropped in the early 2000s. Some overseas bands are included. Where the details of the broadcast can be determined (or remembered) these have been listed, but in some cases all that is known is that a particular band appeared on a certain show at some point in time - a little vague to say the least, but I hope that we can add detail in future as more information comes to light. -

File: LR003208 - Alfred Bradley (interview 14) - no date.wav Duration: 0:39:10 Date: 31/07/2017 Typist: 715 START AUDIO Interviewer: A history of north regional broadcasting, interview number 14, Alfred Bradley. Radio's very first play was broadcast from Station 2LO London on the 15th November 1922. The day after Broadcasting England first began and it was heard in the children's programme but the north region can probably boast the first adult play written for wireless. L. du Garde Peach was the author. It came from the British Broadcasting Company's Metrovix studio and was broadcast by Station 2ZY. By the start of the 1930s far more Northerners were hearing plays than seeing them in the theatre. They were produced by the likes of Jan Bussell, Cecil McGiven and by Edward Wilkinson. The radio dramatic feature became the invention and hallmark of Geoffrey Brideson and Frances Dillon, Olive Shapley and Joan Littlewood all working from North region. By the 1940s James R Gregson had started a school for Radio Playwrights at the Leeds Studios. No history of North Regional Broadcasting would be anywhere near compete without BBC Regional Drama's most distinguished name, that of Alfred Bradley who's with me now. 0:01:19 Alfred you joined in 1959? Alfred Bradley: Yes, I came from a strange job. I was drama advisor in Leicestershire. I suppose I started off wanting to be an actor and I grew out of that very quickly. Found I was better at directing than acting. I couldn't be bothered to remember the lines. -
