March 2015 8 No4 262 The Tamworth Country Music Fes+val held in Tamworth N,9, is a celebraon of Country Music culture and heritage, with numerous concerts and live erformances at various venues. The fesval lasts for two weeks over 2ustralia Aay during late 1anuary and during this eriod Tamworth comes alive, with visitors from worldwide who come to join in the fesvies. The fesval has many mes been counted among the worldFs to ten music fesvals. The enormous number of visitors during the bash brings signi'cant tourism and economic bene'ts to the region. Gisitor numbers for the 2012 fes- val were esmated at 50,000. Fast forward to 2015 - Over 50,000 eo le, thousands of shows, and an ama.ing array of sounds and styles lit u Tamworth for ten days of song and fun, in what was one of the best fesvals yet. The fesval has many mes been counted among the world's top ten music fesvals. Now in its 43 rd year, the Toyota Country Music Fesval Tamworth is much more than just country music, with a range of different events that a ealed to fesval-goers young and old. Inside this issue The Opening Concert kicked off the fesval with Kasey Chambers headlining the free concert in Toyota Park. The 'reworks went off and the fesvies were o(cially in full swing.
