Winner Best Cinematography Nafa Action-fest, Fox Studios Exhibitions 2012 "Talvi" is a body of work created by Australian born cinematographer Dan Freene ACS. The exhibition is from a trip he took with his Finnish wife to her homeland Suomi (Finland) in the coldest months of winter in 2010. The average temperature the work was shot in was around Minus 21 Degrees C. Exceptionally cold, but phenomenally beautiful. Dan observed that even the most simple of things took on an abstract surreal quality, and fuzed with the soft delicate Arctic light, has created a world that feels like being on another planet. The work is presented onto 100% Japanese cotton rag paper. 2003 Celeritas - Finalist Phototechnica Exhibition Australian Centre Photography. 2002 Gattaga - Winner, Propeller Art Prize Education 2008 The Business of Cinematography - Tim McGee ACS 2009 The Magic Flute - Workshop with Roger Lanser ACS on large scale studio lighting 2008 Mao’s Last Dancer - Observer/Assistant to Peter James ACS ASC 2008 Sony F23 Video Australasia Workshop 2008 ACS RED ONE at Fox Studios.
