The debut single from the Swedish mystery collective takes the top spot after being in the chart for nine weeks, most of which were spent hovering in the top five. Its biggest supporters are the Hit and Nova networks, both of which have it as their second most played track. Starley’s Call On Me has finally replicated its overseas success in Australia. At #14 from #40, it’s the #1 Hot 100 Heatseeker for the week. Sofi Tukker takes #2 with Drinkee as the track moves from an alternative mainstay to commercial rising star, taking #53 from #78. Dillon Francis’ Anywhere tops the Hot 100 Breakers this week. Unable to crack Australian radio thus far, it’s performing exceptionally well overseas, already garnering 13.5 million streams since release. Triple j have gotten right behind Golden Features’ new single Wolfie ft. Julia Stone, pushing it to #1. They’ve also thrown plenty of spins behind M-Phases & Alison Wonderland’s Messiah, currently at #2 and A.B. Original’s latest single to click, I C U at #5. Triple M have moved back to playing Rag ‘N’ Bone Man’s Human the most while Bernard Fanning drops to #3 with Reckless. Hit’s support of The Weeknd’s Starboy remains strong for another week while also making room to put Peking Duk’s Stranger in the Top 5 most played. They’re the only network to get behind the track to this extent. Clean Bandit’s Rockabye ft. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie overtakes Neiked’s Sexual at #1 on the Nova Spins chart while Maroon 5 end Hailee Steinfeld’s Starving’s four week run at #1 on the KIIS network with Don’t Wanna Know ft. • BWTB Nov. 13Th Dukes 2016
1 Playlist Nov. 13th 2016 LIVE! From DUKES in Malibu 9AM / OPEN Three hours non stop uninterrupted Music from JPG&R…as we broadcast LIVE from DUKES in Malibu…. John Lennon – Steel and Glass - Walls And Bridges ‘74 Much like “How Do You Sleep” three years earlier, this is another blistering Lennon track that sets its sights on Allen Klein (who had contributed lyrics to “How Do You Sleep” those few years before). The Beatles - Revolution 1 - The Beatles 2 The first song recorded during the sessions for the “White Album.” At the time of its recording, this slower version was the only version of John Lennon’s “Revolution,” and it carried that titled without a “1” or a “9” in the title. Recording began on May 30, 1968, and 18 takes were recorded. On the final take, the first with a lead vocal, the song continued past the 4 1/2 minute mark and went onto an extended jam. It would end at 10:17 with John shouting to the others and to the control room “OK, I’ve had enough!” The final six minutes were pure chaos with discordant instrumental jamming, plenty of feedback, percussive clicks (which are heard in the song’s introduction as well), and John repeatedly screaming “alright” and moaning along with his girlfriend, Yoko Ono. Ono also spoke random streams of consciousness on the track such as “if you become naked.” This bizarre six-minute section was clipped off the version of what would become “Revolution 1” to form the basis of “Revolution 9.” Yoko’s “naked” line appears in the released version of “Revolution 9” at 7:53.

Some of these people have been involved in music for ten years or more, others not so long. The idea was to discuss background and development, as well as current and long-term musical projects. Benedict Moleta [email protected] Ben Stewart (Filmmaker) Were you born in Perth ? Yeah, I was born in Mt Lawley. You've been working on a music documentary for a while now, what's it about ? I started shooting footage mid 2008. I'm making a feature documentary about a bunch of bands over a period of time, it's an unscientific longitudinal study of sorts. It's a long process because I want to make an observational documentary with the narrative structure of a fiction film. I'm trying to capture a coming of age cliché but character arcs take a lot longer in real life. I remember reading once that rites of passage are good things to structure narratives around, so that's what I'm going to do, who am I to argue with a text book? Fair call. I guess one of the characteristics of bands developing or "coming of age" is that things can emerge, change, pass away and be reconfigured quickly.

The majority of these studies have focused on the interaction between a local language and a non-local language. In this project, I propose an analysis of the mixture of two world languages (Spanish and English), which can be categorised as both local and non-local. I do this through the analysis of the enormously successful reggaeton genre, which is characterised by its use of Spanglish. I used two data types to inform my research: a corpus of code-switching instances in top 20 reggaeton songs, and a questionnaire on attitudes towards Spanglish in general and in music. I collected 200 answers to the questionnaire – half from American English-speakers, and the other half from Spanish-speaking Hispanics of various nationalities.

Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres by Vivian Le A THESIS submitted to Oregon State University Honors College in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems (Honors Scholar) Presented May 29, 2020 Commencement June 2020 AN ABSTRACT OF THE THESIS OF Vivian Le for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems presented on May 29, 2020. Title: Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.

Black & Red Sponsorship Opportunities Saturday, January 25, 2020 | The Bushnell | Hartford, Connecticut Proceeds from the Black & Red to benefit the Digestive Disease Center at Hartford Hospital Sponsorship Deadline: Friday, December 13, 2019 2020 Black & Red Beneficiary Digestive Disease Center at Hartford Hospital An estimated 60 to 70 million people in the United States suffer from digestive disorders, which include a wide spectrum of conditions that affect the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, and small and large intestine. The causes of these disorders range from infections, inflammatory conditions, to cancer. While some digestive disorders can be solved with simple lifestyle changes, chronic conditions like Crohn’s disease and life-threatening illnesses like colorectal and other gastrointestinal (GI) tract cancers require lifelong management, resulting in thousands of physician and emergency room visits in Connecticut annually. In the United States there are over 15 million emergency department visits and 3 million hospital admissions for patients with GI disease. Expenditures for GI diseases total $135.9 million annually—greater than for other common diseases such as heart disease. Hartford HealthCare is elevating excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders that affect the GI tract with the advancement of the Digestive Disease Center at Hartford Hospital. In partnership with one of the largest gastroenterology practices in the nation, Connecticut GI, the Hartford Hospital Digestive Disease Center specializes in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to provide high-quality, leading-edge disease treatment. To ensure that patients with GI disorders receive the best possible experience, our physicians collaborate across multiple disciplines, including gastroenterology, surgery, nutrition, oncology, radiology, and pathology.
