I hope you all had a great time. Since the last magazine we have had a couple of good sausage sizzles at Intersport/Toyworld and Bunnings. We have more coming up next year so if you can help PLEASE let us know. Not much happening in January, but we will be back in full swing for February. We have started organising Toomby's and are at present getting different quotes for a grant (we hope). If you know of anybody that would be interested in sponsoring for the weekend please let us know. To any Members going to Tamworth (and I know there are a few) show 'em how much talent we have in the North. If you are on sick call, get well soon. See you all on the 5th of February for our first Friday night. Country Always, Darryl New Year's Resolutions There are more overweight people in Australia than average-weight people. And organisers are expecting many more as the event draws nearer. The CCMA National Talent Quest is one of the richest amateur talent quests in Australia and is believed to be the longest continually running event of its kind since it was first staged in 1968. Entries are being taken for 11 categories: Male and Female Vocal in Senior, Junior and Juvenile age groups, Senior and Junior Group/Duo, Songwriting and Instrumental. In addition to the significant section prize money, the overall senior winner will take home $1,000 cash and the overall junior winner will win a scholarship to the Country Music Association of Australia's Junior Academy of Country Music, with thanks to the sponsorship of Tamworth Regional Council. The 2016 Talent Quest is reverting to the traditional staging time... the Thursday and Friday just prior to the main weekend of the Tamworth Country Music Festival. “And we are going back to one of the best venues we have ever had," said CCMA President Steve Newton. “the Northwest Church Auditorium at the corner of Anne and Kathleen Streets in South Tamworth.” Section winners will appear in the winner's concert on Friday evening, January 22, to determine the overall winners.
