Travis Collins ‘Un-Wired’ TRAVIS COLLINS ‘UN-WIRED’ with very special guests CAITLYN SHADBOLT & MICKEY PYE ‘Un-Wired’ is a new approach to acoustic touring… This is front porch acoustic jamming, but amplified. Three respected artists in their own right, each a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing their own hits but also leaning on a handful of country music’s biggest hits to create a show like no other. ‘Un-Wired’ is a celebration of the roots of music and song in the rawest and most sincere form - Acoustic. The show swings effortlessly and comfortably between moments of power and energy, to intimate and personal, funny and charismatic. This show has a depth well beyond just the three individual performers alone. Australian country music star Travis Collins is no stranger to success, his latest offering ‘Wired’ debuted at #1 on the ARIA country albums chart, and placed at #23 in the all-genre chart. The lead single ‘Curves’ set a new record with a whopping 10 weeks (9 consecutive) at #1 on the national airplay chart. He is a multiple Golden Guitar, ACE, MO, and CMC award finalist. With a string of #1’s under his belt already and a decade of winning fans all over whilst touring with some of the industry heavyweights, Travis now turns his attention to his own tour. “The album ‘Wired’ is all about connecting with people, stripping back all the layers of blur and just honestly singing my life - their life. It’s about feeling togetherness, as if ‘wired’ through music and proud of where we come from. When I think about touring this album, I want it to feel exactly that way live too… strangely enough, that meant stripping it all back again, but in a different way… the show, the tour, had to be ‘Un-Wired’ . Country girl Caitlyn Shadbolt ’s angelic voice and infectious enthusiasm make a perfect package. Caitlyn’s energy is contagious and brings a smile to every audience she encounters with her new fun loving style of country music. Since picking up a guitar and joining her first rock band at age 12, Cait has performed on many stages, from local pubs and clubs to major festivals all over Australia both solo and with a band. Country Cait has appeared as a special guest with Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers, Taylor Henderson, Jasmine Rae and her X Factor co-star Dean Ray. Mickey Pye is a 25 year old Australian country artist from the small town of Oberon in NSW. Having toured extensively as a guitarist for some of Australia’s biggest country acts including Beccy Cole, Tania Kernaghan, and Travis Collins, he is a well-respected musician in the industry and one of the most exciting young artists coming through the ranks. In 2015, Mickey was given the industry’s prestigious ‘Toyota Starmaker Award’ , beating a white- hot field of competition. After cutting his teeth relentlessly playing in pubs and clubs throughout the touring circuit, ‘Mickey Pye’ has stamped his name on many peoples lips already, even before his debut album comes in August. • James Blundell
JAMES BLUNDELL There are many terms people use when describing James Blundell. Icon. Legend. Controversial. Rebel. The truth is - James Blundell is all of these things. He is unashamedly honest and comfortable in his own skin. He radiates an enthusiasm for everything that life has to offer and it’s this authenticity that makes him one of the most instantly likable and recognisable artists in Australian music. Acknowledged by many as the act that single-handedly shaped modern Australian country music by infusing his influences of John Mellencamp, The Band and The Angels with the storytelling ethos of Slim Dusty and his lyrical insight, sharp wit and empathy for the average working man. This combined with his handsome good looks and country charm ensured there was no stopping his success across all demographics. In 1992, James found mainstream success thanks to the smash hit single, “Way Out West”, with former Australian Crawl front man, James Reyne. The song debuted at #28 on the ARIA charts before peaking at #2 a month later. The song was ranked #22 on the ARIA End of Year Singles Charts while his platinum selling album, “This Road”, came in at #28 on the ARIA End of Year Albums Charts above acts including Madonna, AC/DC and Roxette. James was the first young Australian country act to sign a major record label deal in Nashville, which has since paved the way for the likes of Keith Urban, Catherine Britt and Kasey Chambers. In addition to his own success he has penned hits for Lee Kernaghan, Slim Dusty and Jimmy Little.
