This is intentional. Shift isn’t a flash in the pan; it’s the expression of an attitude that will continue to shape our dialogue in the future. To protect intact moors and restore dried-up moor areas, Volkswagen Financial Services has been working together with Germany’s Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) since 2009. While much critical attention has been given to the role of the automobile in American novels, less has been given to its role in American short stories.

From 1994 to 1996 the club saw many transformations, and the O.A.N.A. settled into its current form in 1996. Our purpose now is to provide a source for locating parts, service, tech-help and various forums to exchange information between owners of all Opel models from the 1957 Olympia to any gray market imports that are in North America. We do, however, place a special emphasis on the Opel GT, Manta and Kadett models. The North American Bitter Registry was formed for essentially the same reasons as The Opel Association. A very small number of Bitters (our sister make) SC coupes were imported into the U.S. With the non-existence of any club to help the owners of these rare and exotic cars, it was determined that our club would be the right place to give assistance and help these owners have a place to get connected. · Club membership dues: Net-Only Membership (Members do not get a mailed newsletter; they download it from the net) is $20 for 2 years. Nur zehn Jahre später gehören zu einem erfolgreichen Grand-Prix-Rennwagen bereits techni- sche Finessen wie eine obenliegende Nockenwelle mit Königs- wellenantrieb und vier Ventilen pro Zylinder. Herausragende O- pel-Technik von 1913 – schon damals für Tempo 170 gut. Und nur ein weiteres Jahr der Entwicklung verwandelte den Opel Rennwagen in einen Hubraum-Giganten mit 12,3 Liter Volumen, 260 PS und einer Endgeschwindigkeit von sagenhaften 228 km/h. Dieses für damalige Zeit unfassbare Tempo fuhr das so genannte „Grüne Monster“ vornehmlich bei Strandrennen mit endlosen Ge- raden. Im Gegensatz dazu heißt der zentrale Begriff des Rallye-Sports „die Kurve“. Und Meister des spektakulären Drifts ist der Opel As- cona – vor allem mit Walter Röhrl am Lenkrad. Der Ausnahmefahrer gewann 1974 (mit Copilot Jochen Berger) auf einem Ascona A die Europameisterschaft und 1982 mit dem Ascona 400 und Christian Geistdörfer die Königsklasse – die Rallye-WM. Auch auf der Rundstrecke hat Opel in der jüngeren Vergangenheit kräftig hingelangt. Star des En- sembles ist zweifellos der „Cliff-Calibra“. Mit dem allradgetriebenen Klasse-1-Tourenwagen schnappte sich Manuel Reuter 1996 die Krone der International Touringcar Championship. Die ITC war aus der DTM hervorgegangen und zu einem weltweiten Wettbewerb gewachsen. Der Opel Calibra V6 dominierte schließlich die mit Formel-1-Technik ausgestatteten Gegner von Alfa Romeo und Mercedes. In den Sechzigern und Siebzigern war die große Zeit der Tuner, die sportliche Serienautos in sa- genhafte Rennwagen verwandelten.
