The essence of the brand was captured in a document created by Kiss which underpinned the ‘Square Principle’ at the same time as getting client approval on the style to be created. The Corporate Identity was in black and white so all photographic imagery featured as greyscale. The poster was printed up to a size that would cover a large wall. Both a new name and brand appearance was required and a simple icon, inspired by the regal Fleur de Lis and comprising three leaves was proposed and accepted. The original Fleur de Lis originated from French royalty in the 12th century and is an established symbol that conveys strength and power, an appropriate to represent a dependable developer. Chase New Homes was born! Icon is centre to show authority Simplistic Fleur de Lis lis from right to cre- ate depth. Simple and recognisable. Bold and confident capitalised name in chase classical sans font Slightly lighter version of font, centred below HOMES for balance. CASE HISTORY Creating a living site through research Chase New Homes in Berkhamsted Berkhamsted is an attractive town to the north west of London. It boasts a picturesque canal running through it which further enhances its photogenic appearance. Due to this and the great popularity of the town, Chase New Homes decided to purchase land to the south east of Berkhamsted High Street. Research was undertaken and it transpired that Berkhamsted was where King William I (William the Conqueror) was given the official keys to Westminster Abbey, prior to his Coronation as King of England. Hence the development was called Royal Keys.
