Form guide • Rijeka's 2-2 draw against UEFA Europa League holders Sevilla FC on matchday two extended their unbeaten home run in Europe to ten games (W6 D4); Feyenoord have not won in nine European away matches (D1 L8) since a 2-1 success at Kalmar FF in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup first round. • The record of Croatian clubs in 20 fixtures against Dutch sides in UEFA competition is W6 D4 L10. The Dutch teams have won five of the last six since GNK Dinamo Zagreb beat NEC Nijmegen 3-2 in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup group stage – with the other game ending in a goalless draw. • Five matches have passed since a Croatian club scored against Dutch opposition (AFC Ajax's 2-1 success against Dinamo Zagreb in the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League group stage). Trivia and links • Rijeka are one of only four teams left in the competition who entered this season's UEFA Europa League in the second qualifying round, along with FC Krasnodar, FC Dinamo Minsk and Asteras Tripolis FC. • Rijeka and ŠK Slovan Bratislava could both match FC Steaua Bucureşti and PFC CSKA Sofia's record wait of nine games for a first UEFA Europa League group stage victory if they fail to prevail on matchday three. The coaches • Hired in February 2013, Rijeka coach Matjaž Kek led his native Slovenia to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals. Kek started and ended his playing career as a defender at NK Maribor – where his father and son also played – either side of a long spell in Austria, and returned there to begin his coaching career. • Feyenoord coach Fred Rutten was a defender for FC Twente, and coached the club in two spells before heading abroad to join FC Schalke 04 in 2008. He returned to the Netherlands the following year and spent nearly three years in charge at PSV Eindhoven and then a season with Vitesse, taking up his current post in March 2014. 3 HNK Rijeka - Feyenoord Thursday 23 October 2014 - 19.00CET (19.00 local time) Match press kit Kantrida, Rijeka Team facts HNK Rijeka Formed: 1946 Nickname: Riječki bijeli (Rijeka Whites) UEFA club competition honours • None Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) National cup: 5 (2014) Ten-year record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2013/14: group stage 2012/13: did not take part in UEFA competition 2011/12: did not take part in UEFA competition 2010/11: did not take part in UEFA competition 2009/10: third qualifying round 2008/09: UEFA Intertoto Cup first round 2007/08: did not take part in UEFA competition 2006/07: first qualifying round 2005/06: second qualifying round 2004/05: second qualifying round Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 5-0: Rijeka v Prestatyn Town FC 18/07/13, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round first leg • Biggest away win 1-5: Vikingur v Rijeka 31/07/14, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 0-3: Rijeka v FK Partizan 04/08/99, UEFA Champions League second qualifying round second leg • Heaviest away defeat 4-0: Vitória SC v Rijeka 19/09/13, UEFA Europa League group stage UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League • Biggest home win 5-0: Rijeka v Prestatyn Town FC (see above) • Biggest away win 1-5: Vikingur v Rijeka (see above) • Heaviest home defeat 1-2: Rijeka v FC Metalist Kharkiv 30/07/09, third qualifying round first leg 0-1 twice, most recently v RC Celta de Vigo 28/09/00, first round second leg • Heaviest away defeat 4-0: Vitória SC v Rijeka (see above) Feyenoord Formed: 1908 Nickname: De Trots van Zuid (The Pride of South) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • European Champion Clubs' Cup (1): 1970 • UEFA Cup (2): 1974, 2002 Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) Domestic title: 14 (1999) 4 HNK Rijeka - Feyenoord Thursday 23 October 2014 - 19.00CET (19.00 local time) Match press kit Kantrida, Rijeka Dutch Cup: 11 (2008) Ten-year European record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2013/14: play-offs 2012/13: play-offs (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2011/12: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2010/11: play-offs 2009/10: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2008/09: group stage 2007/08: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2006/07: round of 32 (excluded from competition for crowd disturbances) 2005/06: first round 2004/05: round of 32 Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 9-0: Feyenoord v US Rumelange 13/09/72, UEFA Cup first round first leg • Biggest away win 0-12: US Rumelange v Feyenoord 27/09/72, UEFA Cup first round second leg • Heaviest home defeat 0-3: Feyenoord v VfB Stuttgart 29/09/98, UEFA Cup first round second leg • Heaviest away defeat 5-0: Real Madrid CF v Feyenoord 22/09/65, European Champion Clubs' Cup preliminary round second leg UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League • Biggest home win 9-0: Feyenoord v US Rumelange (see above) • Biggest away win 0-12: US Rumelange v Feyenoord (see above) • Heaviest home defeat 0-3: Feyenoord v VfB Stuttgart (see above) • Heaviest away defeat 5-1: VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach v Feyenoord 22/10/86, second round first leg 5 HNK Rijeka - Feyenoord Thursday 23 October 2014 - 19.00CET (19.00 local time) Match press kit Kantrida, Rijeka Squad list HNK Rijeka Current season All-time QUAL UEL League UEL UEFA No. Player Nat.
