Remodelación de la biblioteca de John Mackintosh Hall

El Ministerio de Cultura tiene el placer de anunciar que la segunda fase de la remodelación de la biblioteca de John Mackintosh Hall ha finalizado.
La primera fase, que consistió en pintar, colocar una moqueta y sillas nuevas, reformar las mesas y cambiar el aspecto de la zona de recepción, ya fue anunciada el pasado verano.
Esta segunda fase, que ha consistido en un área de lectura de periódicos con sillones y mobiliario nuevo para la sección de niños, ya ha sido finalizada.
La dirección de la biblioteca también está muy orgullosa de anunciar que, gracias a una generosa subvención concedida por la Fundación John Mackintosh (John Mackintosh Trust), ha adquirido libros educativos y publicaciones para la biblioteca de referencia por valor de 10.000 libras. La selección de estos libros fue consultada con el Departamento de Educación (Department of Education).
El Ministerio financiará la compra de libros de otras categorías. De hecho, recientemente se puso a disposición del público una remesa de libros nuevos para la sección infantil.
Actualmente, la biblioteca disfruta de un gran auge, con muchos miembros nuevos que hacen uso de las instalaciones de forma regular.
El mes pasado, la biblioteca celebró el “Día Mundial del Libro” (World Book Day) por primera vez, con cuentacuentos para niños, disfraces, intercambio de libros y otros eventos. Esta jornada resultó un gran éxito y a partir de ahora se celebrará de forma anual.
La dirección insta al público a acudir para observar por sí mismos las nuevas instalaciones. La biblioteca está abierta de lunes a viernes entre 9:30 y 19:30.
La dirección también desea recordar al público que la cafetería de John Mackintosh Hall, que cuenta con una nueva gestión, también está abierta de lunes a viernes entre 9:30 y 19:00.

REFURBISHMENT OF JOHN MACKINTOSH HALL LIBRARY
The Ministry of Culture is pleased to announce that the second phase of the refurbishment of the John Mackintosh Hall Library is now complete.
This first phase that consisted of painting, laying a new carpet, the provision of new chairs, refurbishment of the tables, and a new look for the reception area was already announced last summer.
This second phase consisting of a newspaper reading area with easy chairs and new furniture in the children’s section has now been finalised.
The management of the library is also very proud to announce that thanks to a generous grant awarded by the John Mackintosh Trust, it has been able to purchase £10,000 worth of educational books and publications for the reference library. The choice of books bought was arrived at after close consultation with the Department of Education.
The Ministry will be funding the purchase of books in other categories. Indeed, a consignment of new books for the children’s section recently went on display.
The library is currently enjoying a new lease of life with many new members signing on and making use of the facilities regularly.
Last month the library celebrated “World Book Day” for the first time, with story-telling for children, fancy dress, book crossing and other events. This proved to be a huge success and will now become an annual occasion.
The management urges the public to come along and see for themselves the newly refurbished facilities. The library is open Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm.
The management would also like to remind the public that the John Mackintosh Hall Cafeteria under new management is also open Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm.
