September 1999 – July 2014: Education, Research & Survey Officer at the Gibraltar Museum. In this role I was responsible for developing and implementing the Museum’s Education Strategy and was also responsible for the setting up and maintenance of computer-based databases on Gibraltar’s Heritage, both man-made and natural. Amongst other responsibilities, I also assisted in the co-ordinating and carrying out of the Museum’s Research Programme, aspects of which included the Gibraltar Caves Project, work on palaeoenvironmental reconstructions, archaeological excavations, historical research, ecological fieldwork (both terrestrial and marine) and setting up and overseeing collaborative projects with other museums and institutions. August 2001 – July 2014: Co-Director of the Underwater Research Unit (URU) Gibraltar Museum. In this role I worked together with Dr Geraldine Finlayson of the Gibraltar Museum in the planning, execution of underwater research projects. These covered the ecology, archaeology, geology and landscape geography of submerged and intertidal areas. September 2004 – July 2014: Deputy Director of the Gibraltar Museum. My duties as Deputy Director incorporated most of the roles I carried out as Education, Research & Survey Officer, but also included direct support to the Director, as well as assisting in the management and administration of the Museum. August 2014 – Present: Director of Academic Programmes and Research at the University of Gibraltar. My duties in this role consist of creating, implementing, directing and delivering all academic programmes within the University of Gibraltar (undergraduate and postgraduate) including research degrees. It also involves broader elements such as international collaborations with partner universities, management of support staff and development of existing and new research programmes, as well as progressing my own personal research lines. During the University start-up phase the role was much more diverse to incorporate legislative drafting, strategic planning and development, recruitment and media outreach as well as working on the design concept for the University.
