CBY Executives Report Progress At Board of Directors Meeting Progress on several fronts was reported at last week’s Board of Directors Meeting. Primary focus was on matters related to the Yomim Nora’im and the shul’s financial status.

It was reported that for the recent 5779 High Holiday services 1,691 seats were sold, 40 more than in the prior year. President Ethan Keiser thanked Sharon Kolb for chairing the Seating Committee. Gabbai Rishon Chaim Kiss explained that he was Saul Kaszovitz meeting with the Rabbi and gabbaim of all the minyanim to identify any perceived shortcomings. That will be followed by a corrective action plan.

There was favorable comment about Simchat Torah in Bnai Yeshurun overall. The Committee will still review various aspects and make recommendations to make next year even better.

Assistant Treasurer Saul Kaszovitz reviewed our financial status. Five months into the fiscal year (which starts June 1st) we are “on track” to meet the annual financial plan, currently showing a small favorable variance. In addition to the additional High Holiday seats, the proceeds of the Kol Nidre Appeal were somewhat higher this year. Ethan thanked the Kol Nidrei Appeal Chairperson Dovid Weinstein.
