Also this list included lacking data of 4 species for European Turkey. Two of them were overlooked by Özdikmen (2008) as Dorcadion johannisfranci Pesarini & Sabbadini, 2007 and Pedostrangalia verticalis (Germar, 1822). According to Pesarini & Sabbadini (2007), a male paratype of D. johannisfranci is from Edirne province in European Turkey. Interestingly, Danilevsky in Löbl & Smetana (2010) also gave it only for Anatolia (possibly printing error). Besides, Pedostrangalia verticalis (Germar, 1822) was recorded by Bringmann (1996) for European Turkey. In addition, Chlorophorus sartor (Müller, 1766) was not presented in the above list wrongly despite determining in the text for both European and Asian Turkey. Also Dorcadion lineatocolle Kraatz, 1873 occurs in European Turkey according to Özdikmen (2010). Thus, the fauna of European Turkey consists of 175 species of 6 subfamilies according to the list. Palaeoxylosteus yadongensis sp. nov. and Palaeoxylosteus motuoensis sp. nov. from Xizang, and Notorhabdium wenhsini sp. nov. from Hainan are described. Male genitalia including endophallus are illustrated. The definition of the tribe Xylostei- ni is discussed. Introduction During 2010 to 2011, the first author and his team made several expeditions to Sichuan, Hainan and Xizang (Tibet) of China and collected some interesting species belonging to Xylosteini. One specimen was quickly identified as Encyclops x-signata CHIANG, 1981 by its diagnostic ely- tral markings. This species has been known from Emeishan (Mt. Omei), Sichuan (CHIANG, 1981) and Xiangnan, Hubei (HUA, 1992). According to the original description of this species, the holotype was deposited in Beijing Agriculture University, but it is now preserved in the insect collection of South- west University. Considering the unsatisfactory condition of the holotype, the second author had doubts about the definition of the genus when he had a chance to examine the type several years ago. Fortunately the fresh specimen collected from the type locality gave us an opportunity to re-examine this species.

Fruška Gora during the period of 2002 - 2005 has shown the presence of 29 species and three sub- species. Of that number, one species is new to the Serbian fauna, seven species or subspecies are regis- tered for the first time for Mt. Fruška Gora, three species are Balkan endemics, and 10 species or sub- species are rare in Serbia. The presence of Icosium tomentosum atticum Ganglbauer, 1881 in Serbia is confirmed by this entomological investigation. KEYWORDS: Cerambycidae, endemic and rare species, Balkan Mt. Fruška Gora INTRODUCTION Mount Fruška Gora is in many respects (geomorphological, faunistic, floristic, etc.) a special mountain massif. It is cut off from the rest of the Dinarid system and is surrounded by lowland. Since the 1950’s a few researchers investigated the mountain’s entomofauna (ADAMOVIĆ, 1950, 1965; MIKŠIĆ, 1963; ILIĆ, 2005; PIL and STOJANOVIĆ, 2005a, b). Until now 126 cerambycid species were registered on this massif. That number includes some species which were there noted for the first time for Serbia, as well as rare and endemic species. MATERIAL AND METHODS Material was collected on field trips on Mt. Fruška Gora during the period of 2002 - 2005.

  • Bugs & Beasties of the Western Rhodopes
Bugs and Beasties of the Western Rhodopes (a photoguide to some lesser-known species) by Chris Gibson and Judith Poyser [email protected] Yagodina At Honeyguide, we aim to help you experience the full range of wildlife in the places we visit. Generally we start with birds, flowers and butterflies, but we don’t ignore 'other invertebrates'. In the western Rhodopes they are just so abundant and diverse that they are one of the abiding features of the area. While simply experiencing this diversity is sufficient for some, as naturalists many of us want to know more, and in particular to be able to give names to what we see. Therein lies the problem: especially in eastern Europe, there are few books covering the invertebrates in any comprehensive way. Hence this photoguide – while in no way can this be considered an ‘eastern Chinery’, it at least provides a taster of the rich invertebrate fauna you may encounter, based on a couple of Honeyguide holidays we have led in the western Rhodopes during June. We stayed most of the time in a tight area around Yagodina, and almost anything we saw could reasonably be expected to be seen almost anywhere around there in the right habitat. Most of the photos were taken in 2014, with a few additional ones from 2012. While these creatures have found their way into the lists of the holiday reports, relatively few have been accompanied by photos. We have attempted to name the species depicted, using the available books and the vast resources of the internet, but in many cases it has not been possible to be definitive and the identifications should be treated as a ‘best fit’.

Crisicum 4. pp.431. _______________________________________________________________________________ A Dél-Tiszántúl annotált állattani bibliográfiájának alapvetése Kalivoda Béla Abstrackt Establishing the basis of the Annotated Zoological Bibliography of the South-Tiszántúl: The goal of this work was to initiate to collect the publications of the zoological data of the South- Tiszántúl (South-East Hungary, see on the maplet) namely the activity area of the Körös-Maros National Park Directorate. During the assembly of the bibliography my principal was the collection of zoological data. So the work contains publications of more or less accurate occurrence data. For the better usages sake the bibliography is annotated. Its items are provided with a code composed from the name of author(s), year of publishing and, if it is necessary, an additional letter code. Annotations contains these codes providing possibility of query by animal species, taxon and location of data.

Molekulární fylogeneze podčeledí Spondylidinae a Lepturinae (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) pomocí mitochondriální 16S rDNA [Molecular phylogeny of subfamilies Spondylidinae and Lepturinae based on mitochondrial 16S rDNA, Bc. Thesis, in Czech]. Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia, České Budějovice, Czech Republic. 34 pp. Annotation This study uses cca. 510 bp of mitochondrial 16S rDNA gene for phylogeny of the beetle family Cerambycidae particularly the subfamilies Spondylidinae and Lepturinae using methods of Minimum Evolutin, Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian Analysis. Two included representatives of Dorcasominae cluster with species of the subfamilies Prioninae and Cerambycinae, confirming lack of relations to Lepturinae where still classified by some authors. The subfamily Spondylidinae, lacking reliable morfological apomorphies, is supported as monophyletic, with Spondylis as an ingroup. Our data is inconclusive as to whether Necydalinae should be better clasified as a separate subfamily or as a tribe within Lepturinae. Of the lepturine tribes, Lepturini (including the genera Desmocerus, Grammoptera and Strophiona) and Oxymirini are reasonably supported, whereas Xylosteini does not come out monophyletic in MrBayes. Rhagiini is not retrieved as monophyletic. Position of some isolated genera such as Rhamnusium, Sachalinobia, Caraphia, Centrodera, Teledapus, or Enoploderes, as well as interrelations of higher taxa within Lepturinae, remain uncertain. Prohlašuji, že jsem tuto bakalářskou práci vypracovala samostatně, pouze s použitím uvedené literatury.

380 _____________Mun. Ent. Zool. Vol. 5, No. 2, June 2010__________ THE TURKISH DORCADIINI WITH ZOOGEOGRAPHICAL REMARKS (COLEOPTERA: CERAMBYCIDAE: LAMIINAE) Hüseyin Özdikmen* * Gazi Üniversitesi, Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Biyoloji Bölümü, 06500 Ankara / Türkiye. E- mails: [email protected] and [email protected] [Özdikmen, H. 2010. The Turkish Dorcadiini with zoogeographical remarks (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Lamiinae). Munis Entomology & Zoology, 5 (2): 380-498] ABSTRACT: All taxa of the tribe Dorcadiini Latreille, 1825 in Turkey are evaluated and summarized with zoogeographical remarks. Also Dorcadion praetermissum mikhaili ssp. n. is described in the text. KEY WORDS: Dorcadion, Neodorcadion, Dorcadiini, Lamiinae, Cerambycidae, Coleoptera, Turkey. The main aim of this work is to clarify current status of the tribe Dorcadiini in Turkey. The work on Turkish Dorcadiini means to realize a study on about one third or one fourth of Turkish Cerambycidae fauna. As the same way, Turkish Dorcadiini is almost one second or one third of Dorcadiini in the whole world fauna. Turkish Dorcadiini is a very important group. This importance originated from their high endemism rate, and also their number of species. However, the information on all Turkish Dorcadiini is not enough. The first large work on Dorcadiini species was carried out by Ganglbauer (1884). He evaluated a total of 152 species of the genus Dorcadion and 13 species of the genus Neodorcadion. He gave 30 Dorcadion species and 4 Neodorcadion species for Turkey. Then, the number of Turkish Dorcadion species raised to 53 with 23 described species by Heyden (1894), Ganglbauer (1897), Jakovlev (1899), Daniel (1900, 1901), Pic (1895, 1900, 1901, 1902, 1905, 1931), Suvorov (1915), Plavilstshikov (1958).

  • Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)
