3 Our own Blagdon Free Range Turkeys

All our Turkeys, Geese, Ducks, Guinea Fowl and Chickens are naturally reared outdoors here on the estate in grass paddocks. They are free to forage and roam but also have the option to come indoors of an evening should the weather become inclement or if Mr Fox takes too much of an interest in them. All our birds are raised slowly and to full maturity using traditional and sensitive farming methods. This slower growth process produces a delicious dense meat and good fat cover making them moist and tender with great flavour. A much moister meat which can’t be beaten. All our poultry is prepared for you by hand on the estate & comes oven-ready with giblets and a sprig of herbs. The centrepiece of the most important meal of the year! Our two breeds of turkeys are naturally reared outside in a grass paddock here at Blagdon where they are free to roam. Our turkeys take up to 24 weeks to mature,rearing them slowly produces a delicious dense meat and good fat cover making them moist and tender with great flavour.

6 Beef Joints Blagdon Rare Breed and Traditional Beef Here on the farm we have Rare Breed Belted Galloway and White Park cattle herds that live on the meadows and wetlands on the farm. We also source some beef from other trusted farmers and suppliers in Northumbria. We start maturing our beef for Christmas in the final week of November, as we understand that certain cuts require a longer time to mature than others. Our expert butchers take great care and nurture our beef to ensure it’s as tasty and tender as it could possibly be for you. It is selected, cut and prepared with care and skill using traditional, as well as some more innovative methods and packed to your requirements. Lamb Joints For the third Christmas running we are delighted to be offering what we believe is some of the tastiest lamb in the whole of Northumberland. Morris Graham who farms near Thropton produces some of the most sought after lambs in the county and we feel very privileged to be one of his stockists. Unlike most butchers we hang our lambs for up to 7 days which helps to tenderise the meat as well as giving a deeper, richer taste.

Hampers We have a range of gift hampers filled with all of the delicious goodies from the shop that we would love to receive! Alternatively – we can offer a bespoke hamper service. Why not choose the products you would like in a hamper that are special to you and we can make it up for you, for a small charge, in a range of jute bags and baskets. (This service is available up to 19th December; during busy periods we may not be able to make the hamper while you wait, but can arrange collection at a later date and time).

Christmas Food Fair & Tasting Day Saturday 26th November 10.00am-5.00pm If you have never tried any of our home produced turkeys, geese, chickens, beef or gammon then this is the event not to miss. We will have our award winning stuffing’s, quiches and delicious handmade puddings to try before adding to your order. We will also have our favourite suppliers tasting their wares and there’s mulled wine and nibbles to get you in the Christmas spirit.
