Jim Peterson is the nominee for the third Director replacing Peter Haase who has chosen not to seek re-election. The election will be at the September 17 General Membership Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Club’s main dining room. Membership meetings are open to Regular, Life and Associate members, however only Regular and Life members are eligible to vote. Spouses and guests are not permitted to attend membership meetings. Nason said he is honored to be nominated for Commodore, and is looking forward to serving. “As we approach SSYC’s century mark, we’re facing many challenges. I know that with everyone’s best efforts SSYC will continue to be the best yacht club on Lake Michigan,” he said. Nason is a Life Member with 33 years of membership, and has been a board member for many years. He is currently Vice Commodore and chairs the Entertainment Committee. He has chaired the Audit, House, Grounds, Public Relations/ Publications and Sail/Race Committees, and serves on a number of committees.
