Media Release, March 11, 2021 the America's Cup World Series (ACWS
maxon precision motors, inc. 125 Dever Drive Taunton, MA 02780 Phone: 508-677-0520 [email protected] www.maxongroup.us Media release, March 11, 2021 The America’s Cup World Series (ACWS) in December and Prada Cup in January-February were the first time that the AC75 class yachts had been sailed in competition anywhere, including by the competitors themselves. The boat’s capabilities were on full display demonstrating how hard each team has pushed the frontiers of technology, design, and innovation. Over the course of the ACWS, Emirates Team New Zealand was able to observe their competition including current challenger, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. Luna Rossa last won the challenger selection series back in 2000 on their first attempt at the America’s Cup. This was the last time Emirates Team New Zealand met the Italians. As history shows Italy has not yet won the cup itself. They look strong and were totally dominant in the Prada Cup Final maintaining quiet confidence, but they are up against a sailing team in Emirates Team New Zealand who are knowledgeable, skilled, and very fast. Emirates Team New Zealand will have collected a great deal of data from Luna Rossa’s racing to date, with which to compare their performance and gain valuable insight into their opponents’ tactics and strategy. The Kiwis approach to the America’s Cup campaign holds a firm focus on innovation. Back in 2017/2018 when the design process began for the new current class of AC75 yachts, the entire concept was proven only through use of a simulator without any prototypes. -

INTRODUCTION: "THE OLDEST CONTINUOUS TROPHY IN SPORTS" 2 One-hundred and thirty-seven ounces of solid silver, standing over two feet tall, this "One Hundred Guinea Cup" created under the authorization of Queen Victoria in 1848 is physically what is at stake at every America's Cup regatta.3 However, it is the dignity, honor, and national pride that attach to the victor of this cherished objet d'art that have been the desire of the yacht racing community since its creation. 4 Unfortunately, this desire often turns to envy and has driven some to abandon concepts of sportsmanship and operate by "greed, commercialism and zealotry."5 When these prin- ciples clash "the outcome of the case [will be] dictated by elemental legal principles."6 1. -

OLYMPIA YACHT CLUB April 2016
OLYMPIA YACHT CLUB April 2016 Commodore Captain Mike Phillips First Mate Patti Phillips M/V Chaotic Too ello all ..... H Well it’s April already, and we are starting into another busy time of the year. I hope everyone is surviving all of the spring rain! The first on the list of functions is Daffodil at the Tacoma Yacht Club April 15th thru the 17th. This is great event where they have good food, dancing and competition for all. The Olympia Yacht Club has a long tradition of doing very well in these competitions. Our enthusiasm at this event is off the charts. Let’s keep our tradition going! Last year we had 21 boats in Tacoma. Let’s see if we can beat it this year. This event is always a lot of fun. The next event is Seattle Opening Day. It runs from May 5th to the 8th. I re- alize that it is a long trip, but it is well worth it. There is so much going on with all of the surrounding clubs getting into the act, with meals and activities i.e. dancing every night and lots of parties on the docks with friends. We do have an officer’s boat in the parade, and we could use a decorated boat if someone is interested in volunteering their boat. So mark your calendars and join us in Seattle for their opening day. Finally on May 13th and 14th it will be South Sound Opening Day. It will start off with a TGIF and deco- rating on Friday night. -
Fischer Panda US to Equip the New Boston Whaler 350 Challenger
Fischer Panda US to Equip The New Boston Whaler 350 Challenger Brunswick Commercial and Government Products (BCGP), a leading manufacturer of watercraft for the government and workboat markets, has selected Fischer Panda Generators for their new 350 Challenger. The Boston Whaler OEM installation will involve the Fischer Panda 8 Mini DP AC generator, according to Chad Godwin, director of sales for the U.S. operations for Fischer Panda. Fischer Panda already provides generators for several other Boston Whaler models, including the 305 and 345 Conquest and 370 Outrage models. The 350 Challenger is a new Boston Whaler model manufactured by BCGP for military, law enforcement, port security, search and rescue (SAR), and workboat operations. The new 35-foot, 11-inch walkaround cabin model features an open cockpit and center helm layout for 360-degree access to facilitate boardings and other maneuvers. The 350 Challenger holds 421 gallons of fuel, and can be powered by dual or triple outboard engines up to 900 total horsepower. BCGP’s order, according to Godwin, continues the growth for Fischer Panda, where the reliable 8 Mini DP AC generator is netting strong sales. Powered by the reliable freshwater cooled Kubota Z428 twin cylinder diesel with Fischer Panda’s trademark freshwater-cooled asynchronous electrical end, the 8 Mini provides Fischer Panda North America with a recession-resilient sales leader, a big favorite in the 30 to 38 foot sportfishing power market as well as government and commercial users,' said Godwin. “More OEMs are switching to Fischer Panda, which are rated as the smallest, lightest, quietest and most efficient marine diesel generators in the world,” he added.
