Oldcastle Precast’s San Diego Plant Achieves One Year Without an OSHA Recordable Injury SAN DIEGO, Calif. (JUNE 2017) – On April 1, 2017, Oldcastle Precast San Diego achieved one year of work, 88,984 man‐hours, without an OSHA Recordable (Medical Treatment) Injury. Reaching this safety goal is an important achievement and testament of the commitment and focus to safety the employees at the San Diego manufacturing facility are demonstrating.
Since 2012, after joining Oldcastle Precast, the San Diego business has undergone major changes, some of which is adding new product lines; increasing availability of different precast products to the Southern California region; and nonstop preparation moving into a new plant. Nevertheless, their commitment to safety came first.
“Achieving one year without a recordable injury is an incredible accomplishment. We maintain employee safety as a primary focus for our teams as well as our customers,” said Bobby Gifford, Oldcastle Precast San Diego, Plant Manager. “I am very proud to be a part of a group that’s so dedicated to keeping each other safe.”
Likewise, Southern California EH&S Manager Adriana Ramirez remarked, “The Team “down South” has undergone several major changes in the last couple of years and the fact that they have kept safety in the forefront speaks volumes to their character and commitment. Under those circumstances, we are very proud of this team and their accomplishments. We look forward to a bigger, better, safer Team in Lakeside!”
Also, present to congratulate the San Diego Team was Southern California Regional General Manager Todd Ebbert who stated,” I am extremely proud of our team and the focus they have on safety as well as quality and customer service. Working a year without an OSHA Recordable Injury is a key leadership realization that is highly valued and sought after in our industry. So, this safety achievement is due to the great teamwork and care for all members of our operation. The group has shown that safety is important on each task they perform, every time, every day. As a result, we are making sure everyone goes home safely to enjoy quality time with their family and friends. Congratulations to the entire San Diego team who continues to perform safely while in the process of plant relocation preparations and not letting anything distract them in their goal of Zero Injuries. "
The San Diego Team celebrated their achievement by attending a San Diego Padres baseball game, at the “Sun Diego Beach”, who took on the Colorado Rockies.
