SAN DIEGO NOTES

• Jhoulys Chacin gave up a season-best one hit and did not allow a single run to cross home for the fifth occasion this season (for the first time since August 1 vs. MIN)…the veteran righty owns a 1.79 ERA (20 ER, 100.1 IP) in his 16 starts at Petco Park this season…he has a 9-3 record at home in 2017 and has held opponents to a .175 average...DJ LeMahieu ended his no-hit bid with his single in the sixth…he has now fanned six-or-more batters in 12 starts this season. • With his single in the fifth inning, Manuel Margot tied his career-high seven-game (also: April 7- 14)…he is hitting .385 (10-for-26) with two doubles, a triple and four stolen bases in that time. o Margot was caught stealing third in the fifth inning, ending his 10-steal streak without being thrown out. • Austin Hedges’ three hits in the game tied his career high (set on June 12, 2017 vs. CIN)…his double in the sixth inning was his third in as many games, and it marks the first time in his career that he has doubled in three consecutive games. • Carlos Asuaje committed a fielding error in the first inning, which was his third error this season in his prior 625.1 innings played.

COLORADO NOTES

• With the Rockies’ 5-0 defeat, it marks the first time in club history that they have been shut out three times in a four- game span in one season…the last time Rockies were shut out three times in one road trip dates back to July 27- August 6, 2009. • Chad Bettis’ one earned run allowed was the fewest he has relinquished this season since his first start on August 14 vs. ATL (did not allow a single earned run)…Bettis has made only one other appearance in his career in which he allowed one-or-no ruans while allowing at least seven hits (also: Sept. 30, 2016 vs. MIL, when he allowed eight hits and one earned run). • DJ LeMahieu logged the Rockies’ first hit off Jhoulys Chacin in the sixth inning with his single to center…he is a career .464 (103-for-222) hitters against San Diego, which entering the game, was the eighth-highest mark average among all active players. • Tonight marked the second game this series in which the Rockies did not record a single extra-base hit (also in Game 1)…it was also just the second game this whole season in which they did not log at least one extra-base hit against the Padres.
