Afternoon Tea The truly relaxed nature of afternoon tea’s mean predicting numbers is difficult plus the time spent fiddling around with miniature desserts. We believe the catering solution is our range of afternoon tea boxes. Pat~histor~ie The quintessential British trend of Afternoon tea’s began in 19th century England with it being usual to only eat two full meals, one early in the morning and again late at evening. Anna, seventh Duchess of Bedford described a “sinking feeling in the late afternoon” and decided to have a cup of tea and light snack. Soon the nobility followed suit but its popularity has grown more than anyone could have foreseen. Our standard box comes fit for four, the components include; 4 mini carrot cakes, 4 duo mousse pots, 4 mini raspberry muffins, 4 lemon tarts and 4 scones. The boxes can be frozen giving an extended shelf life meaning just defrost and plate up! We now also offer themed boxes, such as our Christmas boxes and we are flexible with what the boxes contents are. We also provide bespoke individual treats. Authentic Welsh desserts Rather than claiming that we craft handmade welsh desserts simply because we are situated in South Wales, we released an authentic welsh range. Each of these desserts focus around a key ingredient as follows; Our Halen mon salted caramel torte, a great taste winner in 2016. Beginning with a buttery biscuit base, a caramel layer follows which is well seasoned with Anglesey’s famous salt beneath a rich layer of Belgian chocolate. Finally, all is delicately hand topped with a runny caramel design which also contains the welsh salt to ensure the presence of the key element is felt. Welsh Stout sticky toffee pudding served with a warm welsh stout sauce. You can have all the dazzling desserts on your menu then diners often go with the traditional option. Our dessert takes this classic mainstay and gives it a unique welsh twist, with a SA Brains stout through the pudding and within our thick stout sauce. A rich Penderyn chocolate torte, great taste winner 2015. This can be held on a buttery or ginger nut biscuit base, our Belgian chocolate torte has included the distinguishable taste of the flavoursome welsh whisky brewed in the Penderyn distillery not too distant from the beacons. Tea & Banqueting We offer bespoke individual mini desserts and a range of afternoon tea boxes. The boxes can be tailored to your needs. Large industrial manufacturers, high-end or large bakery chains, retail outlets and luxury hotels make fancy baked products to satisfy demand for high quality mostly from middle to high income urban families and well educated young generation. This presents ample opportunities for a wide range of U.S. baking ingredients including wheat, dairy products, dried fruit, nuts, fruit puree, fillings and even colorings. However, limited knowledge, lack of new recipes and low awareness, together with higher prices compared to Chinese ingredients, challenge penetration of U.S. ingredients. Partnerships with the Chinese industry mutually benefits both the Chinese industry and U.S. exports, and marketing efforts need to greater integrate education and training, technical assistance, recipe development and in-store promotion to encourage use. The history of Chinese cuisine in China stretches back for thousands of years and has changed from period to period and in each region according to climate, imperial fashions, and local preferences. Over time, techniques and ingredients from the cuisines of other cultures were integrated into the cuisine of the Chinese people due both to imperial expansion and from the trade with nearby regions in pre-modern times, and from Europe and the New World in the modern period. In addition, dairy is rarely—if ever—used in any recipes in the style. The "Eight Culinary Cuisines" of China[1] are Anhui, Cantonese, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Sichuan, and Zhejiang cuisines.[2] The staple foods of Chinese cooking include rice, noodles, vegetables, and sauces and seasonings.

Ismail et al. Journal of Ethnic Foods (2021) 8:19 Journal of Ethnic Foods https://doi.org/10.1186/s42779-021-00095-3 REVIEW ARTICLE Open Access The Malay’s traditional sweet, dodol:a review of the Malaysia’s heritage delicacy alongside with the rendition of neighbouring countries Norsyahidah Ismail1, Muhammad Shahrim Ab. Karim1* , Farah Adibah Che Ishak1, Mohd Mursyid Arsyad2, Supatra Karnjamapratum3 and Jiraporn Sirison3 Abstract The Malaysia’s cultural heritage is authentic, unique and colourful with various local cuisines of different races and cultures. It is mainly originated from the Malay culture being the largest ethnic group in the country. The Malays themselves have contributed to many local cuisines ranging from appetiser, soup, main course and dessert. However, some Malay heritage foods have almost been forgotten and jeopardized in quality. This is especially happening to the Malay sweets or desserts which have gradually become less appealing to the younger generations. They are not even familiar with Malay foods, let alone consuming them. Among the popular Malay heritage foods in Malaysia are lemang, ketupat, rendang, wajik and dodol. Dodol specifically has been listed as one of the endangered heritage foods in Malaysia. Preserving the Malay cuisines is part of sustaining the Malay culture and this should begin with a great amount of knowledge and understanding about any elements within the culture itself. This article highlights a nostalgic and evergreen Malay’s traditional sweet, known by the locals as dodol by discussing its history, different types and names of dodol, as well as the recipes, preparation, cooking methods and packaging.
