-Vougeot Grand AOC Clos de Vougeot, Bourgogne, France

We often evocate in : “the round cuvée” because it takes up all the types of soils that we can find on the appellation.

THE VINTAGE 1833 bottles and 60 magnums have been produced for the vintage 2013.

LOCATION 0.75 ha planted in 1948. The plot of the estate is located in the southern part of the appellation, at the corner of the wall separating the Echézeaux and Clos-Vougeot.

TERROIR Its originality lies in the length of its rows - 200 meters - on three different soils: - first a stony soil with an important limestone-clay ratio, - then a soil with small stones and a high proportion of clay, - finally a finer soil with clays and silts.

VINIFICATION The grapes are harvested by hand and destemmed. 3 weeks of fermentation with a very moderate intervention. The aging is 50% in new barrels for 22 month.

VARIETALS 100%

TASTING NOTES The nose is classy a Grand Cru of course but not always the case with Clos Vougeot from holdings in the middle of the Clos on the Vougeot side very close to the wall On the palate Bing cherry has some tannins but lots of class with some rustic mineral elements very square and well-structured super fresh minty fruit with lots of racy Stoney mineral fruit with a long finish.
