Overview of the Civil-Military Dual-Use Initiative Yokota Air Base, which is a U.S. military base with a 3,350-meter runway, is located about 38 kilometers west of central Tokyo. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is promoting “Civil- Military Dual-Use of Yokota Air Base” to enhance the convenience of local residents in their daily lives and to stimulate the economy of the surrounding areas.
