Salon technicians have the best equipment and know the best techniques to make hands and feet smooth and elegant. Where did they learn these methods? The history of manicures and pedicures date back to premodern times and are still useful today. A pedicure is done to regenerate tired and worn feet. The history of pedicures originated in ancient Egypt. The carving shown was made by an Egyptian official who displays a depiction of people getting manicure and pedicure. The word pedicure comes from the Latin words “pes,” which means foot, and “cura,” which means care. A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the hands and fingernails performed at home or in a salon. The English word manicure comes from the Latin words “manus”, for hand, and “cura” for care.
