Activities of the District Level Committee : 1) The committee should meet at least once in 3 months at the District Head Quarters. 2) The committee shall be consulted in the preparation of DPRs under DDUGJY and IPDS and would monitor the implementation of these schemes. 3) The committee would review the quality of power supply and consumer satisfaction and would promote energy efficiency and energy conservation. 4) Minutes of the meeting to be issued by the convener. 5) It is the responsibility of the Member Secretary to ensure that requisite meeting take place and a quarterly report is sent to the Nodal Agency i.e., REC (DDUGJY) and PFC (IPDS). The Government of India has launched 2 Nos. new schemes "Deen Dayal Upadhayaya Gram Jyoti Yojana" (DDUGJY) for rural areas and Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) for urban areas for 24X7 power supply in the state. The objectives of scheme are: DEEN DAYAL UPADHAYAYA GRAM JYOTI YOJANA (DDUGJY) 1) providing access to all house holds 2) Feeder Separation - Separation of agriculture and non-agriculture feeders facilitating judicious rostering of supply to agricultural & non- agricultural consumers in the rural areas. 3) System Strengthening - Strengthening and augmentation of sub-transmission & distribution (ST&D) infrastructure in rural areas. 4) Metering -Metering at distribution transformers, feeders and consumers end Under this scheme 60% of the amount will be given as grant, and the balance 40% as loan. The infrastructure is proposed for an amount of Rs. 136.71 Crores and submitted to M/s RURAL ELECTRIFICATION CORPORATION LIMITED (REC), NEW DELHI for sanction. INTEGRATED POWER DEVELOPMENT SCHEME (IPDS) (i) Strengthening of Sub-transmission and Distribution network in urban areas (ii) Metering of distribution transformers / feeders / consumers in urban areas (iii) Rooftop Solar Project, installation of solar panels and smart/net meters (iv) Continuing IT enablement of distribution sector and distribution network strengthening Under this scheme 60% of the amount will be given as grant, and the balance 40% as loan. The infrastructure is proposed for an amount of Rs.40.86 Crores and submitted to M/s Power Finance Corporation, NEW DELHI for sanction. The following points were raised by Hon’ble committee members: District Collector, convener has briefed on the 2nos Central Govt Schemes namely DDUGJY and IPDS Sri Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Minister Chairperson has reviewed on the power supply position in the district and instructed to intimate the local surpanchs on the interruptions or breakdowns etc. And discussed on the proposed electrification of rural households under DUGVY and told to complete within the time frame after awarding of the work, as per the guidelines and to prepare time lines of monthly schedule for electrification of rural households and other works. Sri Ram Mohan Naidu, MP Chairperson, discussed on the earlier submitted proposal for Rs.385 crores and present prosposal for Rs 136.7 crores. And told to submit the future requirements for lines and Sub-Stations other than House holds. District Collector told to submit a report on the differences on the above proposals Minister discussed on the solar pump sets works and told to speed up the works. Sri K.Ravi Kumar , WHIP Member asked Solar pump sets work not completed in Narasapuram (V) of Ponduru Mandal & told to complete the work at the earliest and told lines laid long back in house sites and over new houses constructing. A New Sub Station was required at Sarubujji and also raised the point to require 24 Hrs supply to Industrial estate in Amadalavalasa and proposed with new 33/11 KV Sub Station. Smt G. Laxmi Devi, MLA Srikakulam /Member, told that in Srikakulam constituency lines are passing over houses, lines getting rusted in sea coast areas, lineman handicapped to be transferred. District Collector discussed on the 15 nos Sub Stations proposed in DDUGVY. Sri K. Ravi Kumar, WHIP/Govt. of AP is told in Amadalavalasa Asst. Engineer post not filled. District Collector told to write a DO Letter to CMD, APEPDCL. Smt Ch.Dhana Lakshmi, ZP Chairperson & Member DEC told iron poles laid long back got rusted including agriculture lines laid 50 years back and to replace lines passing over houses are to be shifted. Sri B.Ramana Murthy, MLA Narasannapeta and Member DEC told to provide UG cable in Sea coast area, in Saravakota mandal the nunmber of households proposed to be electrified is low, the Timadam & Allada villages of Saravakota mandal are getting supply from Challavanipeta SS and requested to propose a new Sub station at Timadam(V). The Hon’’ble Minister discussed on extension of continuous 7 hrs supply to Agricultural pump sets and the system improvement provision for regular works and also discussed on power supply status to Srikakulam Town. At present the Srikakulam town is getting supply from 132KV Substation Chilakapalem, which is at 10 KM distance from Srikakulam town. Recently a new 132KV Substation has been sanctioned for Srikakulam town. It is necessary to construct the new 132KV Sub station in Srikakulam town only. District Collector finally concluded the meeting and told that time lines to be framed for the targeted quantities proposed in the scheme and the committee will meet once in 3 months.
