Holy Eucharist Rite II – The Fifth Sunday in Lent 8:50 Service March 21, 2021 Prelude *Procession: At the Name of Jesus EH435, (vs. 1, 2, & 5) At the Name of Jesus; every knee shall bow, every tongue confess him. King of glory now; tis the Father's pleasure we should call him Lord, who from the beginning was the mighty Word. Humbled for a season, to receive a Name; from the lips of sinners, unto whom he came, faithfully he bore it spotless to the last, brought it back victorious, when from death he passed. In your hearts enthrone him; there let him subdue all that is not holy, all that is not true: crown him as your Captain in temptation's hour; let his will enfold you in its light and power. *Opening Acclamation BCP p. 355 Bless the Lord who forgives all our sins. His mercy endures forever. Amen. 1 *Collect for Purity BCP p. 355 Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen. *Praise after Collect: At the Cross (Love Ran Red) There's a place where mercy reigns and never dies. There's a place where streams of grace flow deep and wide; Where all the love I've ever found, Comes like a flood, Comes flowing down. At the cross, at the cross, I surrender my life. I'm in awe of You. I'm in awe of You. Where Your love ran red, And my sin washed white. I owe all to You, I owe all to You Jesus. There's a place where sin and shame are powerless. Where my heart has peace with God and forgiveness. Where all the love I've ever found, Comes like a flood, Comes flowing down. Chorus Here my hope is found, Here on holy ground. Here I bow down, Here I bow down. Here arms open wide. Here You save my life, Here I bow down. Here I bow. Chorus Oh (Savior of the world). 2 (Jesus) Savior of the world. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
