He gave me these seventy- five verses and state- ments while I was unpacking my past and starting to understand who I truly am in Jesus. Ever since then, I have carried these close to my heart. I pray these will minister to you the way they have to me so that you, too, can understand that in Christ, you are free indeed! 1. John 1:12—I am a child of God. 2. John 15:1–5—I am a part of the true vine, a channel (branch) of His life. 3. John 15:15—I am Christ’s friend. 4. John 15:16—I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit. 5. Acts 1:8—I am a personal witness of Christ for Christ. 6. Romans 3:24—I have been justified and redeemed. 7. Romans 5:1—I have been justified (completely forgiven and made righteous) and am at peace with God. 8. Romans 6:1–6—I died with Christ and died to the power of sin’s rule in my life. APPENDIX 1 9. Praise Music has always been a big part of my life. As a child, I loved to sing. When I was 12, I was so excited to receive a stereo for my birthday. At 16, I discovered the joy of driving my car and listening to music that matched my mood. As an adult, I have learned to love all types of music: hymns, contemporary praise, show tunes, and top 40, to name a few. Music frequently is playing in the background at my house and in my offce. I think my love of music is connected to how it speaks to us. It can help us express thoughts and emotions when words do not seem to work. It can make us laugh and energize us, and it can remind us of important truths about our relationship with Jesus Christ. Many songs reinforce the Good News we encounter in scripture. They sometimes spark within us a new understanding of our identity in Christ. Music connects to people of all ages and brings us together. These things inspired us to create devotions centered around song and scripture. Over the next few weeks, we will listen to contemporary Christian music, hymns, and songs from Roswell Kids. We will explore their connections to scripture and dive deeper into how they can help shape and form our faith. We hope these devotions will help your family create space in your days to focus on God, to refect on how God is speaking, and to engage in activities that help reinforce the messages. Please know you are in our prayers and that we miss your families. -

100 Most Influential Black Christian History-Makers Black history is important, but making history now is more important. Compiled and Edited by the Editors of BCNN1.com Black Christian News Network One We thank God for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks, but we need a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a Rosa Parks today. Introduction We believe that black history is important. But we also believe that making history today is more important. We cannot rest on the laurels of great luminaries such as Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, George Washington Carver, and others. God used these and others mightily in their time; now He has given us this time and we will have to answer to Him as to how we use it. In light of that, we have attempted to place in one volume the most influential Black Christian History-Makers who are living today and who are serving Jesus Christ with their various gifts and talents. The ability to lead is not something you can train to have. True leadership is a gift from God that is undeniable by people. You cannot make yourself a leader of people. In other words, you cannot be a leader just because you want to be. Only God makes leaders. One can improve his or her leadership abilities but one cannot make himself or herself a leader. The people who have been chosen for this list are not people who are trying to be leaders; they were born leaders by the grace of God. -
