Crosstown Lrt Who Is Metrolinx? CROSSTOWN LRT WHO IS METROLINX? Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT Line Background • In September 2008, Metrolinx launched a regional transportation plan – a 25-year, $50 billion plan -- to coordinate and integrate transportation and transit in the Greater Toronto Area • In 2010, City of Toronto approved the project to build the Eglinton Crosstown from Weston Road in the west to Kennedy Station in the east. • Following a competitive process, Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) was awarded a contract in July 2015 to design, build, finance, and maintain the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT). Project Players and Roles What Are We Building – a New Modern LRT • 15 underground stations and 10 surface stops – 9 km below ground and 10 km above ground • A maintenance and storage facility • A 19-kilometre route separated from regular traffic • Transit communications system • Links to 54 bus routes, three subway stations, GO Transit, and a new UP Express station Awaiting Safety First – Our #1 Priority feedback from Safety We train and direct staff to: • Always have a site specific safety plan and site specific emergency plan. • Ensure pre-work hazard assessments are complete and understood. • Ensure job hazards analyses are complete and understood. • Do everything possible to protect themselves, co-workers, and members of the public. • Stop work if the safety of themselves, co-workers and members of the public cannot be assured. • Identify and report unsafe behaviour and coach each other to make improvements. • Be prepared and equipped to work safely. At least one lane in each direction will be maintained. • Pedestrian access will be maintained. A public notice with additional details will be distributed prior to work beginning. LRT Tunnel Fit Out Tunnel Invert Pour: Key Milestones Tunnel Fit Out: Progress to Date • Concrete trucks deliver concrete every 30-60 minutes, depending on how far down the tunnel the work is occurring • Trucks park beside the shaft at Cedarvale (Allen Rd. and Eglinton), and unload 9 m3 of concrete into a large pipe, into one of two mini concrete trucks (4.5 m3 each) at the shaft floor. • The mini truck in the shaft then drives down the tunnel to the next section of tunnel to be inverted. • The first stage of concrete pour began in tunnel section 1 on April 4, 2017, and tunnel section 2 on April 17, 2017. • On average, crews complete a section approximately 80 metres in length of the concrete slab per day in each tunnel. Concrete Invert Pour - Concrete Delivery • Mini concrete trucks delivering concrete into tunnel. Concrete Invert Pour - Stage 1 • Concrete trucks deliver loose concrete to the work area • Loose concrete mix is used to fill the bottom of the tunnel • Tunnel Fit Out Crew flatten and smooth it Concrete Invert Pour – Stage 2 • Workers install welded mesh which functions like rebar to help reinforce the next layer of concrete • Higher strength concrete is poured to provide the flat track slab for the rail tracks • Workers spread the concrete, and a truss screed machine vibrates it into a perfectly level surface Tunnel Fit Out: What to expect in 2017 • Track work will begin at the Eglinton Maintenance and Storage Facility (EMSF) within the Vehicle Cleaning & Inspection Facility (VCIF) as early as summer 2017. • This track will be the spur line to the rail corridor that will deliver the light rail vehicles to the VCIF at the EMSF site • Mid to late in 2017, small portion of track installed in tunnel (TBD between the West Portal and Keelesdale Station) • This section of track will be the test section for the tunnel fit out. • Majority of track will be installed in the tunnels after the station box construction completion across the line Caledonia Station Aerial Rendering BUS LOOP STATION FUTURE BRIDGE CONNECTION* 90% design rendering *Bridge connection is not part of Crosstown LRT construction Caledonia Station Main Entrance FUTURE RETAIL SPACE 90% design rendering Caledonia Station Exterior Plaza SHELTERED BIKE PARKING 90% design rendering Caledonia Station Bus

  • Capital Projects Group Quarterly Report: June 2017
MEMORANDUM To: Metrolinx Board of Directors From: Gerry Chaput Chief Capital Officer (Acting), Capital Projects Group Date: June 28, 2017 Re: Capital Projects Group Quarterly Report: June 2017 Recommendation That this report is received for information. Executive Summary The Capital Projects Group (CPG) is advancing a large and growing program, involving signature projects like the Regional Express Rail (RER) program, the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT), Finch West LRT, Hurontario LRT, Hamilton LRT and Bus Rapid Transit. CPG has made progress in the advancement of RER enabling works using the Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) model with the assistance of Infrastructure Ontario (IO). Rapid Transit (RT) projects are also moving forward with continued construction on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT and the recent decision from the City of Hamilton Council to approve the Hamilton LRT project and submit an updated environmental assessment (EA) for a 3 kilometre extension from Queenston Circle to Eastgate. Work continues on the management of the RER program’s scope, schedule and budget by introducing new systems, controls and processes and transitioning the program documentation to centralized, system-based record keeping. These systems will be leveraged by all CPG programs and are expected to improve reporting, provide for timely and fact based decision making and better coordinate messaging with stakeholders. CPG is also pleased to report the following accomplishments this quarter: - the introduction of all-day GO Train Service to the Stouffville GO Line to help manage congestion and improve commutes in Scarborough and York Region; - the announcement of the three shortlisted teams to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project; and - breaking ground on the Downtown Bus Terminal project which will be designed to LEED Platinum standards and connect to Union Station and to the PATH system.

TTC 5-Year Service Plan & 10-Year Outlook Round 3 Online Survey Summary Survey Timeframe: October 2, 2019 – October 23, 2019 Total Respondents: 1,201 Overview The TTC hosted an online survey from October 2, 2019 through to October 23, 2019 to help inform development of the TTC’s 5-Year Service Plan & 10-Year Outlook. A total of 1,201 people participated in the survey. The survey was available on the TTC’s website and was promoted through the TTC’s social media networks, City Councillors, and networks of stakeholders. It was not designed or intended to ensure a statistically significant sample. The survey was part of the third and final round of public and stakeholder consultation activities conducted for the TTC’s 5-Year Service Plan & 10-Year Outlook, which will serve as a blueprint for continuous surface transit service improvements (i.e. bus and streetcar) to be delivered between 2020- 2024. Additional consultation activities in round three included two city-wide stakeholder meetings. Based on a combination of extensive technical work and public feedback received to date, the TTC has developed a Draft 5-Year Service Plan & 10-Year Outlook (Draft Plan). The purpose of the survey was to seek feedback on the key elements of the Draft Plan (i.e. Draft 20-Point Action Plan) to inform any final refinements before the Plan goes to the TTC Board for consideration by the end of this year. The survey featured questions related to eight categories, and this summary of responses is organized under the following categories: 1.
