The Peppercorn A St. St. Peter’s Newsletter January 2013 St. Peter's Annual Meeting 2013 Sunday, January 27th, 10:30 a.m. Following one communal service at 9 a.m. We have a wonderful Annual Meeting coming up for 2013. It will include the presentation of a balanced budget for 2013; a chance for questions on any of the ministry and committee reports contained in the Annual Report; some "Fun Facts" and anecdotes about the more distant past of St. Peter's; and the election and vision of another year of strong leadership. The slate of candidates for leadership is below. Biographical information will follow shortly. We are grateful to all for putting their names forward for discernment, and offer our profound thanks to all those whose terms are ending this month. The Nominating Committee is grateful to the candidates below for submitting their names in a timely way. Nominations from the floor during the Annual Meeting is a very poor practice; it doesn't allow the congregation the chance for reflective discernment, and instead evokes reactivity and partisanship. Again, many thanks to these candidates for their thoughtful applications. The Committee is extending the deadline only for those positions for which we do not yet have a complete number of candidates. If you are interested in discerning a role as Convention Alternate, Convocation Delegate, or Convocation Alternate, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee; with the election of a new bishop this year, it's important to represent St. Peter's at the Monmouth Convocation. Applications for the other positions are now closed. The Nominating Committee is Eric Alsager, Dallas Stokes, Meg Tweten, and Rev. Susan.
