An area with an altitude between 700 and 900 metres, with a high thermal contrast between morning and night (+10 ºC), a Mediterranean-continental climate, and with almost a hundred-year-old low production vineyards due to the rocky soil. All of these characteristics are what identify the wines of the area where Gran Anyada has been able to work with Nacho Lázaro, owner of Bodegas Añadas, and the oenologist Óscar Martínez. Together, we have elaborated excellent and enjoyable products for our customers and friends.

11/2019 Special One DO MONTERREI WHITE Gran Anyada has always looked for areas where the grown varieties express their full potential. The Monterrei DO is one of the Galician denominations located in the south-east of the region, next to Portugal. Its granite slopes are watered by the river Támega, a tributary of the river Duero. That is the reason why the traditional Galician wine-growing varieties have been preserved, and the Godello is one of them. Increasingly, the market asks for a type of wine with character, and which expresses the typicality of the area. That is precisely what the wine experts Jose Manuel Martínez Juste and Marià Bigordà, father and son, have worked hard for. We believe the effort has paid of! Oh, and the name SPECIAL ONE refers to a very good friend of the Gran Anyada team!

There is evidence of projects that have earned, year after year, a high credibility among our friends-clients thanks to the good working relationship Marià Bigordà, father and son, have had with Joan Sangenís since 1997. We now offer the opportunity to enjoy an elegant white wine with a lot of structure. In an area of “awarded and qualified” black wines, we have produced a white wine from over 30 year old pansal and piquepoul vines, varieties that are hardly ever grown in Priorat. We take this opportunity to make a different and innovative product.

Looking for the best Galician area to create the desired Albarinho, we find a real gem. Ricardo Abal Padin’s vine- yards and winery, where both the owner and the oenologist Jorge Hervella instantly connected with Gran Anyada projects, which led to the creation of “80 Clicks”, a ma-ture and well balanced white wine, still firmly rooted to its origins at the beautiful area of Val do Salnés.

The 2018 harvest allowed us to combine Tempranillo and Prieto Picudo. This combination mixed with dry ice and very little maceration surprised everyone with its colour, which looks like a red onion, and also with its elegant aromas of raspberry, strawberry and plums. It has a smooth and harmonic lingering finish that always highlights the charac- teristics and typicalities of the “terroirs” of the area. Another project that has become a reality thanks to the good working relationship between the Otero family and Gran Anyada.

An area at an altitude between 700 and 900 metres, with high thermal contrast between day and night (+/-10 ºC) in a con- tinental-Mediterranean climate. 10/2018 THENTIC DO Bierzo RED Speaking of Casar de Burbia in the Bierzo DO is something special. A second generation family business where the patriarch, Nemesio Fernández, an enthusiastic vintner and expert of those lands, transformed many smallholdings of vi- neyards in the ‘80s. With a clear commitment to the quality and a forward-looking approach, he has transformed many almost abandoned smallholdings of vineyards, at an altitude between 800 and 900 m, in a 27 ha vineyard run by his son Isidro, a good oenologist that brings the best results out of them. It was not difficult to combine the wishes of Casar de Burbia and GRAN ANYADA, considering that both companies have had a good working relationship since we met.

By joining their companies’ goals, Gran Anyada and Vendrell-Rived have developed a new project in the Montsant DO, which we are sure will earn the acceptance of the majority of our customers. It is a cheerful and youthful wine called ‘’Quimbi’’, and it ex- presses how much we have always trusted the Samsó variety when it is treated with complete neatness from the vineyard to the bottle. Needless to say, the wine goes through a very precise production, which doesn’t damage any of its excellent peculiarities.

11/2019 YOU ROCK DOP Requena-Utiel RED A few years ago, when talking about the Valencian variety BOBAL, it was easy to fall into the trap of thinking about massive wine ma- king, without more virtues than to obtain a correct product, but with no further aspiration. Thanks to the evolution of vine-growing and oenology, today we talk about wines with singular and very attractive perspectives, because they are very different from the best-known varieties already so globalized. Autochthonous from the area of Requena-Utiel, the Bobal is cultivated with altitude, in calcareous lands not exempt from stone, following the goblet pruning system, although not forgetting about the green pruning system. The vineyard reaches its maturity to give us a captivating product, just like the one achieved in the Pasiego Winery between Jose Luis Salón and Marià Bigordà, father and son, which we think must be a real discovery for the customers of Gran Anyada. Taking advantage of the slate areas in the plots of Carignan in the municipality of Porrera, Joan Sangenís and Marià Bigordà, father and son, break the pattern to produce a wine that has been completely fermented with the grape’s own stem. It also has been aged for 14 months in French oak barrels and left to rest for over a year in a bottle, seeking to obtain a better structure for the final product. 04/2017 ELSDOS de Pau Costa, Black Label, Màgnum 1.5L DO Ribera del Duero, RED In the highest part of the DO Ribera de Duero, there are rich and deep lands, which are excellent for vineyard cultivation. A land full of history because it was a Roman settlement more than 2000 years ago, as shown in the allegorical Bacchic mosaic found in 1972. All of these characteristics are what define the land where Anun Sanz, manager of Bodega Montevannos, and the oenologist Miguel San Juan, have worked with Marià Bigordà, father and son, since 2015. Together, they have achieved a ‘’Crianza’’ wine which combines the oenological properties of the ‘’Tinta del País’’ and ‘’Merlot’’ varieties. It has an excellent colour, balanced acidity, and a very pleasant aftertaste in the line of the most acclaimed brands. Now, we introduce you to the Magnum 1,5L format.

In 2018, the 1 ha. plot where a new Semal was born, this one being nº 10, has allowed us to create a wine that due to its great aromatic red fruit strength, its maturity and intense colouration reminds us of the first projects of this elixir wine that we call Origen de Semal. In 2017, the conditions of drought and temperature and a production of about 185 grams of grapes per vine have been kept the same. Therefore only producing 270 bottles but with an impressive and exceptional personality. It is worth enjoy it!
