Etika Dalam Penulisan Karya Tulis Ilmiah Karya tulis ilmiah merupakan karya tulis yang disusun sedemikian rupa secara runtut dan sistematis mengikuti aturan keilmuan yang dibuat untuk memecahkan suatu permasalahan dengan berlandaskan teori dan metode-metode ilmiah. Karya ilmiah biasanya berisikan data, fakta, metoda, dan solusi mengenai suatu permasalahan yang diangkat. Selain itu penulisan karya tulis ilmiah haruslah berlandasakan pada etika dan norma yang berlaku pada kalangan peneliti dan akademisi. Etika berasal dari Bahasa Yunani yaitu ethos, yang merupakan nilai-nilai dan norma-norma yang menjadi pegangan seseorang atau suatu kelompok dalam mengatur tingkah lakunya. Etika juga berkaitan dengan ahlak (moral) yang baik dan yang buruk. Nilai dan norma bersumber dari agama yang mengatur perilaku manuasia yang boleh dilakukan dan tidak boleh dilakukan. Sedangkan kode etik karya tulis ilmiah merupakan seperangakat norma yang perlu diperhatikan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Norma ini berkaitan dengan pengutipan dan perujukan, perizinan terhadap bahan yang digunakan, dan penyebutan sumber data atau informan. Berikut hal-hal yang harus menjadi perhatian bagi para peneliti dan kalangan akademisi dalam penulisan karya tulis ilmiah diantaranya: a. Etika b. Kejujuran c. Objektivitas d. Legalitas e. Integritas f. Ketelitian g. Keterbukaan dan h. Tanggung jawan sosial Selain itu ada berbagai macam jenis pelanggaran publikasi ilmiah diantaranya sebagai berikut: 1 a. Plagiarism, tindakan menyalin sebagian atau seluruh isi hasil karya orang lain baik secara sengaja maupun tidak sengaja tanpa mencantumkan sumber yang didapat untuk penulisan karya tersebut sehingga seakan-akan karya tersebut merupakan murni dari hasil penelitain diri sendiri. b. Fabrication, pemalsuan hasil penelitian dalam bentuk karangan, catatan dan mengumumkan hasil penelitian tanpa pembuktian telah melakukan proses penelitian. c. Falsification, pemalsuan data penelitian dengan cara memanipulasi bahan penelitian, peralatan atau proses, mengubah atau tidak mencantumkan data atau hasil sedemikian rupa sehingga penelitian itu tidak disajikan secara akurat dalam catatan penelitian. d. Exploitation, pemerasan tenaga peneliti dan pembantu peneliti. Misalnya peneliti senior memeras tenaga peneliti junior dan pembantu peneliti untuk mencari keuntungan, kepentingan pribadi, mencari dan memperoleh pengakuan atas hasil kerja pihak lain. e. Injustice, perbuatan tidak adil sesama peneliti dalam pemberian hak kepengarangan dengan cara tidak mencantumkan nama pengarang dan atau salah mencantumkan urutan nama pengarang sesuai sumbangan intelektual seorang peneliti. f. Intended careless, kecerobohan yang disengaja, dapat berupa tidak menyimpan data penting selama jangka waktu sewajarnya, menggunakan data tanpa izin pemiliknya, tidak mempublikasikan data penting, atau penyembunyian data tanpa alasan yang dapat diterima. g. Duplication, pempublikasian temuan-temuan sebagai temuan asli ke dalam lebih dari satu saluran, tanpa ada penyempurnaan, pembaharuan isi, data, dan atau tidak merujuk publikasi sebelumnya. h. Manipulation, tindakan curang baik data, teori, dan hasil riset demi memenuhi hipotesis, proposisi dan tujuan yang ingin dicapai. 2 Menurut (Lako, 2016) karya ilmiah memiliki peran strategis dan krusial dalam upaya pembentukan dan peningkatan jabatan akademik dosen, kualitas akademik dosen, citra dan reputasi institusi, akreditasi program studi, akreditasi perguruan tinggi, dan peringkat perguruan tinggi. Hal ini memberikan multiplier effect terhadap pengakuan dan apresiasi pemerintah, masyarakat, dan industri sehingga akan memberikan dampak positif terhadap jumlah mahasiswa dan pertumbuhan institusi. ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0766-2763 Email: [email protected] ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT ABSTRACT Graduate students at the University of Manitoba were surveyed to find out if they used reference management software (RMS), features used, challenges and barriers to using RMS. Interest in different types of PDF management features and training options were also investigated. Both users and non-users of reference management software were invited to participate. Non-users managed their citations and references with a variety of other tools. The principal reasons for non-use were that students were not aware of options that were available, and the amount of time needed to learn the program. RMS users also mentioned the steep learning curve, problems with extracting metadata from PDFs, technical issues, and problems with inaccurate citation styles. Most of the students saved PDF documents to their computer. Students were most interested in full-text searching of PDFs, automatic renaming of PDFs, and automatically extracting citation metadata from a PDF.

Bibliography and citations are important elements in writing scientific papers. The arrangement of these two things is done manually or by application. Mendeley is a commonly used citation software. This activity was carried out online using the zoom application because during the Covid-19 pandemic, direct socialization or outreach activities could not be carried out because of the suggestion of Physical distancing. During the presentation of the material, discussion participants were invited to ask questions. The discussion participants were very enthusiastic and there were many questions submitted, including reference sources that could be used in writing scientific papers and the types of writing styles found in the Mendeley application. Community service activities in the form of online discussions about reference management (Mendeley Application) in writing scientific papers are expected to provide knowledge and information specifically for participants who are final year students. This online discussion is expected to also become a forum to refresh knowledge about reference management for participants who are lecturers. We present BibBase, a system for publishing and managing bibliographic data available in BiBTeX files. BibBase uses a powerful yet light-weight approach to transform BiBTeX files into rich Linked Data as well as custom HTML code and RSS feed that can readily be integrated within a user’s website while the data can instantly be queried online on the system’s SPARQL endpoint. In this paper, we present an overview of several features of our system. We outline several challenges involved in on-the-fly transformation of highly heterogeneous BiBTeX files into high-quality Linked Data, and present our solution to these challenges. They primarily help in resequencing, re-styling and reformatting of the citation content in the research manuscripts. They also enable multi-user collaboration on research and allow the researcher to manage database searches and digital libraries. Using these softwares allows synchronization of cloud based digital libraries on multiple electronic devices enabling remote access, and also allows for management of online portfolios. We, herein, describe the basic principles, functions, and limitations of various reference management sofares. Keywords: Bibliography, Citation, Metadata, Research. Researchers often use existing medical literature as books, journal articles, monographs and internet sites, as a base for new research articles. The researcher duly acknowledges and gives credit to the previous researcher for their contribution by citing the referenced literature sources at the end of one’s article.

    An Insider’s Insight into Literature Searches Searching the literature can take various forms, ranging from a quick scan of recent publications to a formal, systematic interrogation of all available data sources to establish the scientific consensus on a specific topic. In these days of online journal databases, the relative ease of conducting a search means that they often start informally with no thought-out search strategy or defined goal. A long list of articles can be generated almost instantaneously, but what did you miss and how long will it take to review the data? How easily can the search strategy be repeated and adapted to obtain a more complete and refined set of references? We offer some insights from the Niche medical writing team who have been conducting literature searches for their clients since 1998.     CLINICAL RESEARCH AND METHODOLOGY Cortesy of Cláudio Florido Rodrigues M.D. INITIAL STEPS IN WRITING AND SUBMITTING A RESEARCH PAPER Passos iniciais na elaboração e submissão de um manuscrito Denise Pinheiro Falcãoa, Anthony Terrence O’Brienb, Rivadávio Fernandes Batista de Amorimb, Heitor Morenob, Felipe Fregnib, Maria Regina Chalitaa BACKGROUND: This article is part of a special series designed to help authors in the process of scientific writing.OBJECTIVE: To address the steps that should precede the writing and submission of a research paper in order to optimize the process. METHOD: The authors discussed among them some strategies that should be adopted before properly starting the manuscript writing. RESULTS: Key strategies were organized into five thematic groups, namely: 1) How to prepare yourself for writing, 2) How to organize and prepare the writing tools, 3) How to elaborate a draft, 4) How to choose a journal, and 5) Who should be an author. CONCLUSION: Key strategies should be adopted before writing and submitting a research paper. Such strategies might ABSTRACT improve the author’s performance, optimize the time spent, and promote a high-quality communication writing, more pleasantly. INTRODUÇÃO: Este artigo é parte de uma série especial que foi desenvolvida para auxiliar autores no processo da redação científica. OBJETIVO: Abordar as etapas que devem preceder a redação e a submissão de artigos científicos com o intuito de aprimorar o processo. MÉTODOS: Os autores discutiram entre si algumas estratégias que cada um costumava adotar antes de iniciar propriamente a redação de um manuscrito. RESULTADOS: Foram estabelecidas cinco etapas estratégicas relativas ao preparo prévio à redação de um manuscrito, a saber: 1) Como se preparar para a escrita, 2) Como organizar e preparar as ferramentas de escrita, 3) Como elaborar um esboço, 4) Como escolher um periódico e 5) Quem deve ser um autor.
