The First Northern Lights Over Lyngenfjord 02-09-2014 15:07 CEST The first Northern lights over Lyngenfjord The light summer nights are magnificient in Lyngenfjord but now, we are ready to welcome Autumn! This weekend, 29th and 30th of August, the first Northern lights were spotted for this season. - I could not believe it! I am here to hike and enjoy the late summer in Northern Norway and all of a sudden, I could see the northern lights! Says the happy tourist from England who paid a visit to the tourist information in Lyngseidet. There is a belief that one only can see the northern lights during cold, arctic nights. The fact is that September and October are also great months for spotting the magic phenomena on the sky! The temperature is nice and the snow has not yet fallen which guarantee dark nights and easy access to view points. - My friends at home will not believe me when I tell them I saw the northern lights during my summer vacation! Unforgettable, says the english tourist while she prepares the camera for the coming northern lights hunt. Visit Lyngenfjord offers accommodation, activities and packages with Northern lights theme. • Planbeskrivelse Lyngen Kommune
