Cattle Breeding Cluster Construction Location: 6 cities/villages Kalach-on-Don, Yelan, Nikolaevsk, Surovikino, Mikhailovka, Elekseevskoe The six dairy complexes include the following basic production facilities: 6 commercial dairy farms for 1000 heads of milking herd with the average milk yield of 7500 liters per head a year fields with total area of 18000 hectares with necessary amounts of grains, legumes, hay, etc 6 workshops for production of granulated firtilizers with the production capacity of 6 tons per hour 6 milk processing plants with the capacity of 20 tons of milk per shift producing 12 different milk products with extended storage life Total project cost: 2,5 mln rub Payback Period: 4,5 yeas 2. Modernization of the Dairy Farm in Dubovsky Region The modernisation of the current livestock breeding complex involves: reconstruction of buildings (cow barn, parlour, fodder storage) purchase and installation of modern equipment for the milking process automation(milking machines, mini tractors, conveyors) growth the number of high yielders up to 1500 heads expansion of fodder base. The project will be implemented in Dubrovsky District on the base of the current agricultural enterprise. Total project cost: 834mln Rub Payback-7 years 3. Construction of a dairy farm in the Zhirnovsky District This is a construction project of a dairy farm with a parallel parlour and modern stall barn equipment designed for 800 loose housed cows. The initiator of the project is a large agro-industrial enterprise. At the present the herd consist of 887 cows. The territory has all the needed transport communications and engineering services. Total project cost: 520 mln Rub (122 mln- own funds) Payback- 6 years 4. Vegetable Growing There is a big demand for vegetable growing in the region. The further details of current projects will be provided based on the initial interest. 5. Acquisition of farming land Foreigners cannot own land in Russia, but increasing number of French, British and German companies lease land for farming in Russia. Volgograd Region is also interested in offering long-term lease to foreign business partners, investors and farmers.
