Yosef Abramowitz, a pioneer of Israel’s and Africa’s solar industries, and a member of Israel’s negotiating team at Paris, will discuss a break-thru model of de- coupling GDP growth from emissions growth, using the case studies of solar power in the Arava region and in Rwanda as windows into the future of green energy and development. Join Mr. Abramowitz, a.k.a., “Captain Sunshine”, as he unfolds a plan of how to successfully beat back climate change while fighting poverty. Yosef Abramowitz is the Co-founder of the Arava Power Company and now serves as CEO and President of Energiya Global. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Public Policy from Boston University, and a Master of Arts in Magazine Journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 1991.
