ABSTRACT In schools, ‘role play’ is exceptionally used by teachers to expedite teaching and learning. Distinctly, ‘teacher in role’, a form of theatre game is scarcely used by teachers although it is an invaluable technique for shaping the dramatic process and developing students’ learning. As such a research based on prospect of ‘teacher in role’ being a ‘teaching tool’ was conducted in a primary school in Kuala Lumpur. In this method, the teacher joins the pupils and plays a role in the drama as part of the teaching process. The teacher has to choose a piece of costume or a prop to signify that they are in the role to distinguish their role as a teacher and that of the character and he/she manages the learning opportunities from within the drama. ‘Teacher In Role’ is in line with Education 4.0 as it uses holistic teaching method designed to integrate critical thinking, analysis of emotion and the expansion of the learning experience and make it more relevant to everyday life situations. The research was conducted using a qualitative method ( observation, interview, and questionaires) in analysing the effects of History lesson via Teacher in Role. The outcome of the research was that pupils learnt the importance of history lessons in a more relaxed and fun manner. The data collected showed that pupils were stimulated to learn when their teacher joined them in acting out roles. Pupils auditory and psycomotor ability was enhanced through the ‘teacher in role’ method.

BABBY HASMAYNI

UNIVERSITAS MEDAN AREA, INDONESIA [email protected]

ABSTRACT Learning achievement is very successful with the learning process. The learning process and achievement are positively correlated, meaning that the learning process done well and successfully will produce good and high learning achievements. Therefore it is necessary to know the factors that influence the learning process itself. The purpose of this study is to study and test the predictive power of the National Examination Score (NES) of SMP on the learning achievement of high school students in the city of Medan. The research location is in Medan City which is in 21 state high schools spread across several districts. The analysis used in this study uses regression analysis and A-B variant analysis. Before conducting a regression analysis, the normality test for the distribution of criteria is carried out, and the linearity test between the predictors and the criteria. The results of the study showed a significant relationship between the National Examination Score (NES) with student achievement, this result is evidenced by the coefficient F = 10,564 with p <0.01. The predicted value of the National Examination Score (NES) has not been satisfactory for predicting student achievement, this proves with a lower correction coefficient for the National Examination Score predictor. There is a significant difference between the learning achievements of male students and female students, this is calculated by the coefficient F = 52.187 with p <0.01, and it turns out that female students have higher learning achievement compared to male students. Obtained a significant difference between students who pass through the National Examination Score (NES) with students who pass through written tests.

ABSTRACT Culture is manifested in many ways. Traditional song is one of the cultural manifestations representing a social life of an ethnic group. Culture recognition, such as understanding traditional song meanings, is believed to preserve cultural heritage. Accordingly, this study aimed at analyzing transitivity patterns used in 10 traditional song lyrics written by a famous Toba Batak traditional song writer, Nahum Situmorang, to find out the experiential meanings realized in his masterpiece. The method of the study is a descriptive qualitative. Transitivity analysis put forwarded by Halliday (1994, 2004) under Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG) served as the tool of data analysis. The result of the study yields two major findings as follows: 1). All of the six process types can be found in Nahum Situmorang’s traditional song lyrics, 2). Mental process and relational process are the most frequently occurred process types in his traditional song lyrics. This indicates that his song lyrics are overwhelmed by emotional description of social phenomena.

ABSTRACT The existence of Indonesian piano music has a relationship with piano music in Europe, this can certainly be obtained through a study of the use of forms, materials, textures and techniques used by Indonesian piano composers in compositional activities. The extent to which the relationship between the development of Indonesian piano music with piano music in Europe can be done with the approach of historical musicology studies, namely studies related to the history of music, including studies of notation, performance practices and instrumentation. The assessment stage begins by first selecting a number of composers who are considered to represent the periodization in Western music (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern), then do an analysis to the level of compositional concepts (both related to ideas and musical characters). After that, we examine the extent of the relationship of Indonesian piano music in the development trajectory of piano music in Europe. We conclude that Indonesian piano composers can be positioned and included in the Modern era. An interesting thing found from the works of Indonesian piano composers (Amir Pasaribu, Mochtar Embut, Trisutji Kamal, Jaya Suprana, and Jaya Suprana) is in the use of forms, melodies, textures and rhythms that are not bound to a particular music periodization. Indonesian piano composers broke out of standard music conventions in the Baroque and Classical periods by changing forms, according to their individuality. The findings of this study are the composition of the Indonesian piano closer to the style of the composition of the romantic period.

ABSTRACT Information about parents in education of children is very important because parents are the primary and first educators, so they must complete themselves. Parent class is a means to build awareness of parents / guardians to be involved in education of children, including the development of a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable learning environment. Parents class is conducted at least twice as much as those coordinated by the association of parents and is guided by the teacher or the school. Researchers have proven a great deal about parental classrooms towards increasing parental knowledge in parenting. Parents who always increase their knowledge about how to educate children will have better knowledge in education of children. Parents in education of children will also improve achievement of children and character. However, parents who do not care and are not involved in education of children will have a negative impact on achievement of children. In general, the results of this study prove the existence of a parent class program to parents in school children at home, in the community and at school. From the results of the analysis of the effectiveness of the parent class using the paired sample t test, information was obtained that all parental support variables had a significant change in value (2 tailed) at 0.001 (below 0.05), meaning that the independent variable was significant after the parent class was carried out. The school as the organizer of the parent class must implement the parent class starting from planning, implementing and evaluating. The class of parents is implemented at least twice in 4 state junior high schools in , namely SMP 5.SMP 6.SMP 9 and SMP 12 in Binjai. But in practice Diversi efforts are ruled out in the settlement of cases when the Child as a Narcotics Actor is subject to Article 111 Jo 112 of Law Number 35 Year 2009 Concerning Narcotics with a maximum sentence of 12 years imprisonment. Therefore the ideals of the birth of Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Justice System are still far from what is expected. This article aims to find out how far the application of the diversion system is to resolve cases of narcotic crime committed by children. This research was conducted with a normative method and using secondary data sources. Based on this research it can be stated that diversionary measures have not been well implemented in the juvenile justice system in Indonesia.

UNIVERSITY OF HKBP NOMMENSEN INDONESIA

ABSTRACT Corruption is one of the original criminal acts (predicate crimes) in the crimes of money laundering. The development of the mode of criminal acts of corruption accompanied by money laundering required legal thinking in enforcement and can be criminal acts. As a mode to deceive law enforcement officials, perpetrators of corruption crimes have disguised and concealed the crime with money laundering. As a result of law enforcement that has been enforced so far only revolves around the demands of the prosecutor who only demands a criminal act of corruption or money laundering. Losses that have occurred due to criminal acts of corruption and money laundering need to have a method of merging criminal charges for corruption accompanied by money laundering. This research is normative legal research using a literary approach in the form of case studies decision and court approaches, i.e. legislative ACT of criminal acts and money corruption laws. The qualitative source of legal substances is the main data of court judgments, secondary data in the form of law, and tertiary data supporting primary and secondary data. The study resulted in legal thought that corruption as the crime predicate of money laundering could be combined with prosecution by prosecutors. The merging of these prosecutions has efficient benefits such as tracking assets that have been washed and maximizing the return of assets through the seizure of assets that can be proven both in investigations, prosecutions and through judicial review. From these results the authors expect that improvements in terms of rules and activities can be coordinated eradication between law enforcement agencies of the police, prosecutors, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and the Center for Acceptance and Analysis Financial (PPATK) in combining the prosecution of corruption and money laundering so that the verdict to be handed down by the judge can restore the state's financial losses and fulfill the sense of justice in the community and achieve the goal of punishment.

ABSTRACT Poetry is a series of diverse complex parts of the artistic whole. Putting poetry together after analysis is like coordinating a musical performance; both actual poetry and actual musical composition converge into an artistic experience that grows deeper and deeper we understand it. Seriosa songs, the point is the equality of music and text, a synthesis of art forms from two different media. Those who fail to understand the meaning of poetry will be correlated with failure to understand the real meaning of music. Singers who have not thoroughly studied poetry cannot sing or play seriosa compositions with focus, imagination and vitality. The need to study poetry in preparation for seriosa performances is not an option, but rather becomes a major part of the basic work for seriosa singers and pianists. There is a phenomenon that occurs, especially in music education in Indonesia, they study seriosa songs by prioritizing notation without ever having the opportunity to learn language as art, either in poetry or in the form of prose. We separate poetry discussions into two basic components: poetry content and poetic forms. In addition to general concerns about word usage, we will also examine how words are chosen for language features that suggest the musical arrangement of the verse: words that exploit sound and color. Choosing certain words because their bright or dark sounds convey certain senses or emotions is one of the poet's most dramatic resources, and recognizing these loud and colorful words is of great concern to the composers who arrange poetry and singers who speak texts.

Therefore, judges are prohibited from imposing criminal sanctions or sanctioning actions on the defendant if their mistakes are not proven. By following the principle of errors, proven narcotic crime does not automatically the culprit to be convicted, because it depends on whether the defendant has a mistake or not. Based on 3 (three) court decisions examined, most of the defendants were convicted when the crime was committed. ABSTRACT Act 1 year 1970 on Occupational Safety (UUKK) is a legal umbrella of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) of Indonesia. UUKK uses penal policy as a rational effort to tackle criminal protection of OSH worker/labor in the workplace. However, the high industrial accident that occurred every year that caused many workers/laborers suffered defects/death, and the absence of industrial accident cases that use UUKK as the basis for prosecution/criminal radiomen indicates that UUKK dysfunction. There is a contradiction with the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUDNRI) of 1945 that explicitly provide a guarantee of OSH protection as a human rights worker in the workplace. The protection of OSH workers is the derivation of the values of Pancasila which is the guidance of the state and every community association, including in the industry working relationship between the entrepreneurs/corporations and workers/workers. The objectives of the UUKK penal policy are in line with the country's purpose, which is to provide OSH protection for the welfare of workers/laborers, as mentioned on The Fourth Opening of UUDNRI in 1945. The problem raised, why UUKK dysfunction. Search the root of the problem using a normative juridical research method with the legislation approach. The results of the study concluded, UUKK dysfunction caused the poor policy of criminal formulation of UUKK so it does not allow to be enforced because it is recommended, renewal of the formulation policy of UUKK with attention to the social realities of society.

ABSTRACT Recently, the use of technology in learning has become more intensive. Students get access to different knowledge and skills quickly, using mobile phones, laptops, or tablets that connected to the internet. They can learn or read everywhere at any time. It seems that by using digital technologies, students can improve their ability to process information in meaningful way and to get more cognitively involved in their study. However, studies in recent years on students in several Asian countries showed the opposite, that in general students tend to process information in a surface way. This had become a trigger for us to conduct preliminary research to obtain a comprehensive view of undergraduate students’ learning strategy approaches. In addition, this study aimed to explore whether there are differences in learning strategy approaches for different fields of studies. There were 264 undergraduate students of Universitas HKBP Nommensen, who involved in this study. They studied in various domain of studies such as economics (n= 50) , engineering (n=21), psychology (n = 103), law (11), agriculture (68), education (n = 11). The instrument used was an adaptation version of ASSIST (Approaches and Study Skills Inventory for Students) that can identify the main learning strategy approach used by students. In general, there were no various significance differences among domains of study. However, few significance results were found. Psychology students used deep approach more intensively than agriculture students. In similar way, economics students used deep strategy approach more often than agriculture students. ABSTRACT The Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia is a government agency that exercises state power in the field of law enforcement, particularly in the field of prosecution. As a law enforcement agency that has a central role in the legal process itself, the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia can be positioned as part of the main state institutions that have the same position and presence as other main state institutions. But in its later implementation, the position of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia was not always in line with the main tasks it was carrying. Even the regulation in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia as a state constitution was not found at all. In this connection, this research is intended to determine the position of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia as a government agency implementing state power in the Indonesian constitutional system. In order to answer the problem in this study, normative juridical research methods are used, namely by examining the various provisions that exist as secondary data to solve the problem under study. The results of this study indicate that the position of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia as a government agency implementing state power is a law enforcement agency that is placed as part of the executive, but the implementation of the main duties and functions as well as its authority is included in the judicial domain. Based on such conditions, further regulation is needed regarding the position of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Indonesia which is more ideal, so that in carrying out its main tasks and functions as well as its authority can run well.

ABSTRACT In 1928, the Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) in Australia established a Protestant school of religion called the Borneo Gospel Assembly Church (SIB) in Malaysia. SIB began to develop in the Sarawak and Sabah regions. Ministry of Rise Up Genearation (RG) ministry is one part of SIB. The songs or songs used in the worship service at RG Ministry use Indonesian spiritual pop songs, which is outside the custom of liturgical songs following the SIB. The author is interested in answering the question: do Indonesian spiritual pop songs respond to the needs of the congregation where they affect the emotions and behavior of the congregation in the RG ministry? To answer this question, the author has conducted field research using quantitative and qualitative research methods. To obtain relevant data, the authors made questionnaires and in-depth interviews with pastors and administrators of RG ministry churches where the church administrators were 100% students of the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). This finding shows positive signs that the songs sung in worship services meet the needs of the congregation by singing Indonesian spiritual pop songs. The songs were also proven to positively influence the emotions and behavior of the congregation to be more expressive in performing praise and worship. Significant influence is evident from the worship service which is held every week, namely the congregation is able to sing well. Through Indonesian spiritual pop songs, congregations are helped to express their faith physically and spiritually by singing in worship services.
