Dear Advisory Council colleagues, Our Advisory Council’s inaugural meeting took place at the Lawrence National Centre, Richard Ivey School of Business, on February 8 th 2005, more than five years ago! Our Centre continues its efforts in bridging the gap between government, business and academia while focusing on the development of sound public policy. To build a constituency for change, we believe that Canadians must be educated on issues of competitiveness and the economic and political challenges facing our world.

This workshop brought together experts in government, business and academia to discuss the project chapters written on the food, water, health, population and international security implications of climate change that affect Canadians .

I On October 20, 2009 the Lawrence Centre and Ivey hosted the Fourth Annual Thomas d’Aquino Lecture on Leadership, delivered by the Honourable John Manley, President of the CCCE. More than 400 students and professors attended John Manley’s morning lecture at the Richard Ivey School of Business in London. An audience of more than 80 distinguished guests assembled for the evening lecture and dinner at the Toronto Club .
