Glasgow Subway EMU for Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), United Kingdom The Glasgow Subway is the third-oldest metro system in the world and commenced operations as early as 1896. Stadler provides a new vehicle fleet of 17 state-of-the-art metro vehicles, as part of the replacement of the entire system. The tunnel systems date from the Victorian era and demand a compact vehicle design. However, Stadler is also able to meet the latest needs of passengers, with the new vehicles featuring an open and completely uninterrupted interior. Thanks to newly developed bogies featuring air CH-9565 Bussnang, Switzerland suspension, the new metro vehicles provide a high level of ride comfort.
