Re: Leading on our Journey to Outstanding

12th February 2018

Dear Colleague,

I am delighted at your expression of interest in joining the White Rose Academies Trust as Principal of East Academy. As the Executive Principal of the Trust, I am confident that you, if appointed to join our team, are arriving in the Trust at a very exciting time.

The Board, which oversees the performance and strategy of the Trust, have set the challenging vision that all of our existing Academies will be judged Outstanding in the next two years. As we successfully implement this vision, we will also look to grow our Trust, so that more young people and the communities in which they live can benefit from the transformational plans that drive our organisation.

In order to achieve this vision, we recognise that we have to collaborate and partner with outstanding colleagues and organisations across the region. As a Trust, we benefit tremendously from our sponsor, Group, which is one of the largest and most successful FE/HE College Groups in the UK. Our sponsor provides leadership and operational support and advice to all our Academies. They also share our vision of creating a truly outstanding Trust.

As a Trust, we also work very closely with the Outstanding GORSE Academies Trust, through an industry defining school improvement agreement. This partnership provides high quality leadership and subject specific advice, as well as providing all our staff with an incredible range of CPD opportunities.

As a new member of our team, you will enjoy the opportunity of working in some of the best resourced and modern schools in the region. In addition, you will have access to an excellent programme of CPD and many other benefits of working in a well-resourced Multi-Academy Trust.

Our Academies are based in some of the most diverse and challenging areas of the UK, but all have at their core a truly inspirational student community. We are confident that our students will be the leaders of the future and that under their leadership, communities and nations will be radically transformed. To achieve our vision, we already employ over 300 outstanding professionals, all committed to unlocking the potential of young people whilst advancing their aspirations. If you believe you have the skills and experience to further the vision of our exciting future, we want to hear from you.

As part of the application process, in addition to completing the formal application form, we would like you to provide a three-page letter outlining the strengths of the Academy, what you believe are the four key areas of improvement and how you would transform Leeds East Academy in to a world class school.

In closing, should you wish to visit our Trust and Leeds East Academy, call Mrs Yvonne Hare, Head of Marketing and Communications on 07906699942, or email [email protected]. We will be happy to arrange a tour at your convenience.

To apply, please use the attached application form and send it to [email protected]

Kind regards,

Andrew Whitaker Executive Principal
